  1. Good luck and we need to "talk" after home from hospital! Hope all goes as planned!
  2. Liquid diet was not as bad as I thought. First day was hard, BUT not that bad. I had lots of zero water, diet snapple, chicken broth, plain ole water with me all the time. I like premier shakes, you can get at sams, and believe me, protein is the key! I also was given by NUT a recipe for egg drop soup and it was delicious! !!! Yes, I am very excited about Monday. The time really has flown by. I don't know if it's the thanksgiving holiday coming up, but I feel like it has just crept up! My diet afterwards is same so hubby and I are going to Sam's for some more protein shakes!
  3. When is your surgery date? I'm new to this site so I don't know if you had surgery yet. Good luck to you! I'm having my sleeve Monday the 23rd. So ready for my lifestyle change to begin!
  4. Time has gone by so fast! I'm not allowed to chew, but I will remember your advice on how. I fill up on liquids. Will probably need advice when it comes to my first real meal! !!! While I was typing my ds called. I'm to be at hospital Monday am at 5am. Just got real!!!!!
  5. I'm new too. I didn't know what NUT was but found the site for explanations! My advice is to listen to your surgeon and ask questions. Remind yourself why you're taking this step. I agree it can be overwhelming but take it step by step. It is a process to make sure you're okay for the surgery plus mentally prepare you for it. I liked the preoperative liquid diet because I feel I'm in control and I can do this! So Can YOU! I did almost do same surgery 5 years ago, but wanted to try one more try. I lost a good deal, not goal, but I've gained it all back and then some. I am really ready now! BEST Of LUCK Dealing With Insurance. They have rules too, document, document, document everything they tell you to do!it will go by fast, really!
  6. . Sounds good!! I had my surgery in 2013 , still a work in progress , but would love to connect , I'm in Roswell /AlpharettaI love John's creek area. Visit up there often. Wish I could find support groups in my area! Good luck!

  8. Anybody from south Georgia? I'm in savannah area.

  10. I find it very interesting that we have a large number of health care professionals having weight issues. Perhaps no time for ourselves taking care of others? Or stress plus no lunch breaks, eating pizza?Hmmmmm. J/w
  11. Thanks for input. My surgery is Monday and I'm the first one. So excited, BUT A Bit scared! Not about actual surgery as I am an old OR nurse and I have friends that are like my family taking care of me. Worried about drinking afterwards, I drink really fast! Everyone says that I will figure it out and take little sips. We shall see, huh? Wt loss was good in preoperative diet, no chewing, lost 8# in 4 days, but then broke my scale, lol. Guess who's going scale shopping tomorrow!
  12. mine is Nov 23rd too! Same history, don't forget to take your cpap machine to hospital! Good luck!
  13. I am going to have surgery Nov 23rd. I have had friends who have said, "what have I done to myself" after their sleeve, but all have said that it gets better. So I'm going in with my eyes open and taking it one day at a time! Say a prayer for me next Monday around 9:30am!
  14. I am a milk drinker. I could go on a liquid diet forever, but I know that's not realistic! How u s everyone doing on vitamins and supplements?
  15. Oh and diet snapple is good. I like the rock a fruit one. I try to get my stuff from publix or krogers, it's just easier when you work full time. Reading these posts keeps me motivated on the big prize!
  16. Just went for my preoperative registration. 9 lbs down, but my surgeon is more concerned with protein and water intake. I like the premier shakes, strawberries and cream for sweet and I like the chocolate and vanilla too. Low sodium Campbell's chix noodle soup is what I have for a meal. I see my surgeon on Wednesday to make sure labs are good. Lawdy, this is getting real!
  17. I had totally forgotten about v8!!!! Congrats on your little one! You are definitely a busy lady, good luck!
  18. Congratulations and here's to a new beginning!
  19. Try eating a little something every 3 to 4 hrs. I like stuff already portioned out, like Carb master yogurt. Also, measure out your water for the day. You can do it and you'll feel more in control when pre op starts. Good luck on your journey!
  20. I'm new to this site. My VSG is November 23, happy thanksgiving! I just finished a birthday and my first week o liquid diet. First day, I'd eaten anything, but have not cheated. Second day, not so bad. I take in about 700 to 800 calories. I like water and premier protein shakes. I am full all the time! But, this liquid diet has prepared me for post op and I do feel better overall. I also use fitness pal for tracking everything, even my water. Btw, does anyone have advice for working out? Walking and strength training?
  21. Thanks for the reply and good luck to you!
  22. Anyone located in south Georgia?
