    Oops

Everyone here has given you very good advise. You asked for opinions, here's mine. You are not ready to make the changes that are essential to post operative success. It is time for you to come clean with your surgeon and reset your schedule. I am not anti-weed, but unless you are willing to honestly address your use of all medicines, you are risking your life.

    How long was ur process?

Initial consult on 12 January 2015, began 6 month medically supervised weight loss program in February (-30#) and got scheduled for VSG on 14 October. Attended final pre op consult with Nut and surgeon yesterday, pre op liquid diet begins Tuesday, been a long time, but am ready to rock n roll!
  4. Pizza, mmmmmm, yummy. Scrape the toppings off one slice, immediately through the crust in the trash, and slowly chew, chew, chew your very small bites. All of the flavor, no carbs, and you've scratched that itch!

    Psych Evaluation

Inner Surfer Girl is dead on. Be open and honest, the psychologist is there to help you be successful.
  6. Oct 14 for me. I started this journey in Dec 2014. Been a long time, but my final consult with the NUT is on 24 September, and pre op diet begins 29 September. Best wishes to all of you!
  7. Great post. Thank you for sharing.
  8. Jennifer, I got your email and have tried to join. Got a message that said that the content is unavailable? BTW, I am not very skilled at FB. I signed up for it for the sole purpose of connecting with others for WLS support.
  9. I didn't get the email, either.

    Michigan Sleevers

All went well for me. Yes, I only went to one support meeting, but I plan to regularly attend meetings after my procedure on 14 October. The support meeting was interesting, in that the co-leaders did a nice job of trying to include everyone in the conversation, despite the efforts of two people that attempted to monopolize the entire session with their "fascinating" stories. Best wishes to you. Thus far, I have been very impressed with everyone that I have met in Dr Gluck's office. All have been very knowledgeable and professional.

    Michigan Sleevers

Re Dr Gluck, I just finished my pre op requirements for insurance. After info meeting and consult with Dr Gluck, I attended a nut info meeting, a support group meeting, a psych evaluation, 6 months of dr supervised weight loss program with the PA, EGD, and a stress test.
  15. I'm scheduled for October 14. Can't wait!

    Who Are You?

Greetings: My name is Rick, I am 59 years old and have been fat my entire life. I am happily married to my best friend for 39 years, we have two wonderful daughters and four grandchildren. I am a retired Corrections Administrator, and have decided to get my sleeve so I can see my grandchildren graduate from college, get married, and begin families of their own. I have been active my entire life, despite my excess weight. I am finding that my constant dieting is no longer producing weight loss. My BMI was 42 when I began this process of qualifying for VSG, it is now 39 with comorbidities so I should be eligible for insurance coverage. We love to travel now that we have time, and are hoping that my weight loss will allow us to remain active for many years.
  18. I had my 6th appt 7/1, and received a surgery date of 9/2.
  19. First contact with surgeon's office in December, seminar in January, six months of supervised wt loss(-30 lbs) with surgery date of 14 October.

    October surgery

14 Oct is my scheduled surgery date. I've been jumping through the hoops since Dec 2014. Was initially scheduled for surgery in early September, but previously planned trip forced a delay. Glad I found this group.
