Hi I'm Narda and I was banded 4 weeks ago I'm happy I made the choice as of two weeks ago I had lost 30 pounds I was getting a bit too focused on the scale so I'm only weighing in at my appointments:) I'm on mushie foods but moving on to soft foods on Friday I haven't been hungry so far and I have walked everyday but weekends I am struggling with no red wine lol wishing the best success:)

Congrats on the weight loss!! I also don't want to get too focused on the scale. I'm going to only get weighed at appointments. I can always feel the loss in my clothes. I'm very excited to be on this new journey!!

Hi and welcome :-) banded 4th August - list 14 lb pre op just started week 3 diet of blended baby food consistency - not lost anything post surgery but feel thinner my clothes are hanging on me so gonna stay off the scales and just see how it goes. First week I've felt any normality from pain etc so feeling good- fill in 4 weeks or so - baby steps xxx

Hi,

I'm Florence. I had lap band surgery on August 5th. It's going pretty well, except for constipation. Is anyone else having this problem?

I banded on July 2nd. I am looking forward to having all of you to share our journey. It is nice to not feel alone.

Hi and congrats, I had the lap band done July 25,2015 and the first 2 weeks were the hardest with the gas, constipation and being able to find a comftable sleeping position. The trick is to walk as much as u can and release all that gas. I had the gas pain on my shoulder 4 days after surgery it maid me cry. But just keep walking thru the pain if u get it. Gas x strips help as well. This Saturday will be 4 weeks and I have lost 30lbs. Take it one day at a time. Wish u a fast recovery good luck (:

Congrats on the weight loss!! I'm deff having that gas pain now. It feels like it's in my shoulder blades and my neck. The pain pills have deff come in handy. And I agree, I have been walking as much as I possibly can.

Question for everyone,

I am 5 days post op and o haven't used the restroom yet. Is that normal? Or is there anything I can do?

Also, I feel as if I can't get a deep breath. Ugh.

It's normal u haven't been eating solid food. But u might want to try warm tea,Fiber gummies or milk of magnesium. I had my first bowl movement about 5-7 days out. My doctor had me start the fiber gummies after the 3rd day. Hope this helps u Good luck.

Hi I was band over gastric bypass August 25 2015 yesterday. Got out of hospital today. I had 5 small incisions . My stoma from gastric bypass 14 yrs had stretched and slightly enlarged pouch made me gain 90 lbs back. Lost 10 lbs pre op diet so that made a slight difference.

So now after my surgery about 30 hrs ago. I have sever pain in my shoulders too. It's the gas I am walking around my house and did religiously during my overnight stay in hospital every 2.5 hrs . But I feel flushed in my face. Not hungry thank god but had a scrambled egg with a drop of extra virgin olive oil. And. Later a protein shake 1 cup and water that was it for my 2 meals at home . I am on pain killers and Gasx chewable a and Pepcid chewable . So I have not passed a bowle movement in 3 days a little worried . But I guess it's normal .
