Support from family

Recommended Posts

I am having a tough time always being offended by my husbands comments. I know he means well, but it hurts my feelings. A lot of you "can't eat that" and guilts me into feeling bad that I'm still struggling with things. I had my surgery a month ago and just now get to finally eat real foods. But staying away from breads and other things is getting tougher by day. I guess I just need some support.

I am sorry that you are feeling that way. I have one of them insensitive husband's too. He don't realize how much his words hurt. I am scheduled to have my sleeve on September 9 my biggest fear is how my husband is going to be. but stay strong you have support it may not be right next to you and it may take us a while to respond but we support u all the way

If you eat bead and 'things' and he sits back and says nothing, is that the kind of support you want and need?

I don't know your relationship, so I could be totally wrong but maybe hes just giving you out a little 'tough love'. Could that be the case?

Talk to him. I'm sure your husband is just looking out for your best interests...but if you're upset enough to post this then communicate that to him. Regarding the bread...you are going to get some tough love from us too!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
