Hummus Pizza?

Recommended Posts

So the other day my local grocery store had a sale on Tribe brand Hummus. It was buy one get 2 free. so i loaded up a bit. and i decided to try some flavors i hadnt tried yet. So i happened to pick up one that is vine ripened Tomato and basil.

Well i tried it and was immediately struck with an idea.

I took a Flat out brand flat bread with very low carbs ( get the skinny girl one if you can find them, if not the light work great as well.) i placed one in the oven for a few minutes on a cookie sheet, then took it out and i spead a layer of the tomato and basil hummus, on it then sprinkled it with skim mozzarella and topped with some turkey pepperoni, a little sprinkle of oregano and back in the oven for 7 minutes. and my god it was pizza heaven with 14 grams of Protein 9 grams of Fiber only about 12 carbs and less than 180 calories ( guestimate based on sizes etc. )

Totally hit my pizza cravings tooth.

Try this stuff , i guarantee youll not know it isnt pizza!

Enjoy!

I do something similar around here, but it's sort of southwesternish. I get the flat-out sandwich/hamburger bun folding ones, cut them in half (separate the two halves), spread each half with hummus spread, then spoon a bit of chunky salsa over that, then black Beans, then some chicken I've diced fine and cooked in adobo seasoning or taco seasoning goes on top. A little bit of shredded cheddar jack, and into the oven until the cheese is melted. It's a variation on something I found in one of the Biggest Loser cookbooks. They have some cool things. I don't remember if it's in their cookbook or on their website but there is also a recipe for something called Double Spaghetti or something like that. It's basically half steamed spaghetti squash and half spaghetti Pasta (I like the Fiber Gourmet for taste). You can serve it as a side. I often put steamed broccoli, lemon zest, and a sprinkling of shredded Parmesan cheese. If I want it for a main dish, I add Italian chicken sausage that I make from scratch (ground chicken, italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, fennel seeds, and crushed red peppers if you like it hot). There are some cool recipes in there and you can easily adjust the portions. Some of them sound a little weird, but all of the ones I have cooked were good, even the weird sounding ones.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
