I am almost 13 weeks post op and have lost 35 pounds so far however I have noticed that it has really slowed down a lot. I am watching what I eat and exercising. My appetite is much greater than previous weeks. I am able to eat larger portions and I have terrible burps and hiccups afterwards. I try to eat slow, not drinking when eating, eat Protein first and everything. I didn't get a fill at my 6wk post op appt since I was having trouble with a lot of phlegm and I was losing good. but now since my appetite has increased and the scale not moving as much - should I go get a fill to get things moving a little and to curb my appetite some? Any encouragement is greatly appreciated and I welcome it. Thanks

@ first of all congrats on your 35lbs loss that's amazing! As far as your question regarding whether you need a fill or not the things I looked at to help me reach a decision is if I was staying satisfied for 3-4 hours after eating a meal? You said you felt like you were able to eat larger portions and that is another way I would evaluate my need for a fill. Have the burps and hiccups recently started after your portions have increased? If so, this could be your stop signal meaning you've gone past the point of satiety to full which is something you should try and avoid. I would say all of this with doctor but if you don't feel satisfied or if the satisfaction isn't lasting at least 3-4 hours then I would say it sounds like you could use a fill. Best wishes and congrats on your success!

@@enjoythetime, thanks for your response & encouragement. I went ahead a got the fill done on Wednesday morning. I read that The hiccups/burps would be my stopping point but sometimes I would get them even before eating and I would be hungry. I would be hungry after 3-4 hours so I think I made the right choice. Since the fill, my appetite has really slowed - can only eat about 5-10 bites if that many of anything- I went from liquids, purée, soft foods and regular so we will see how this goes.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
