I had the sleeve 3 weeks ago. And I am tired all the time. Was anyone of you fatigued all the time and what did you do?

I was severely fatigued the first several weeks after my sleeve. There wasn't really a lot I *could* do about it, other than get a lot of rest after work. Things really turned around for my once I was allowed solid foods and I was able to get in more calories each day. In those early weeks, I was lucky to be getting maybe 400 calories a day. Once I was closer to 800 calories a day, I felt human again.

Definitely just eat on a schedule/timer for now. Do not rely on hunger to remind you to eat!

I was very fatigued for a little over a month after surgery. It gets better. Make sure and take your supplements and drink lots of Water.

I'm 3 weeks out as well, my surgery was on the 8th. I'm still having some problems with fatigue but I think it's slowly getting better.

I was allowed caffeine back at 30 days post-op, but my fatigue was mostly resolved at that point anyway, because I was on soft foods by then.

I am three weeks out and my energy level is so low, I am exhausted after every shower, walk, etc.....please tell me it will get better! I eat and drink as dr ordered and take all my Vitamins. I'm discouraged. How long until you felt your normal energy return?

I really think somewhere around 4 to 6 weeks, once you start having real food, and possibly caffeine. Be advised of any meds that you take may be absorbed differently as well

@@akpiedra I struggled a lot with fatigue in the early days post-op. Like you, even just taking a shower was exhausting. It was hard for me to hold my arms up long enough to wash my hair! But things really turned around for me as I was able to get in more calories as I moved through the food phases. Once I was on things like eggs, soft cheeses, and tuna salad, I was getting in more calories, and therefor more energy. Hang in there! It really does get a lot better, I promise.

I was sleeved 06/24/15 so I am almost 7 weeks out. I still feel very fatigued. I am eating around 800 calories now. It has gotten a bit better but I'll be very glad when I have more energy!!

Are you taking B12? How much Protein are you averaging? Are you getting enough Iron? It might be worth seeing if you can get some blood work done to see if you have any deficiencies. Once I was up to 800 calories a day, I was feeling pretty human. So if you are still fatigued, there might be something more at play than just calories.

@@JamieLogical - Yes I take B12 daily and I get between 60-80g of Protein everyday. That's a good idea though. Fortunately I am having blood work done tomorrow and will go in for my 8 week post op next week so I should find out then.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
