Hi, I'm Sundie. Hopefully I'm doing this right. I'm scheduled for a revision from the Lapband to the bypass and I am, of course nervous. Especially since I'm self pay!! Gah! I'm just here reading and it's great! Thanks to everyone for sharing! I'm 5'4 and starting out at 307 big ones. I'll be 46 next month. Talk about a pivotal time in my life. Woot!

I had the revision 7/15/15 from band to bypass and I was so nervous but it melted away as soon as I got into my hospital gown and met my nurses. You'll do great! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I'm still trying to figure out replying and threads. Der. Am so excited to get the band OUT but I'm worried about the pain/recovery. After the band it was cake!

I've been doing good. I've lost 17 lbs so far and still shrinking. I still hurt a little but it's just a slight nagging pain in my left side. TMI...I had a lot of bathroom problems but finally figured that out. Don't wait 3-4 days to take something (lowest dose of Milk of Magnesia worked for me)and stool softeners don't help at first but I continue to take them.

Thanks Kaye ! It's always good to know about the ol' bowels and what they're doing... or not doing I guess! How's it coming along?

My surgery is a week from today. Pretty excited to get the band out and have the bypass. Hopefully, the band has prepared me a little bit for a change to the bypass. I eat soooo slowly and I puke with the band when I don't chew or my bites are too big. That's almost dailey sometimes. I had an upper g.i. and he said the band looked pretty tight.

I kind of feel sad in a weird way as if I should apologize to my poor body for not taking care of it like I should. I'm blessed to have all my senses and functions and yet I do this to it. Sigh. Well, hopefully I can make the best of it and become good friends to it! ????

I just went from band to bypass. Yay. I too was afraid of the pain. I do need to say I have a high pain threshold. Everybody feels pain differently. However, I feel the lap band was more painful than the bypass. I didn't have as much scare tissue as anticipated. I got lucky. It went very well. I wish everyone the best.

@@pal1 That's awesome to hear! The band is definitely more painful than the bypass. I'm 18 days post op and the area where my band was, is still quite sore while I can't feel anything from the bypass area! No complications so far. Best of luck to you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
