1 week post op I had surgery July 16th and I still feel hungry. Like I'm suppose to be on a clear liquid diet which I do but I just couldn't do broth anymore so I switched to cream of chicken which is better and is filling my hunger pains., but I feel like I cheated and scared I won't lose much wait because I messed up my post op stages. Anybody else feel like this?

I had surgery on the 17 I also had to deal with that a the doctor told me I wasn't eating enough to try to take in 2oz. Every hour until my stomach got use to the fact that I will be on that diet for a while It took me two days to get the head hunger controlled and I haven't had a problem so far with that Campbell Cream of chicken and Tomato Soup was what I was drinking to days and it helped now I'm on mushy food and some soft solids hope it help in some way

Are you getting enough Protein? It also could be gas? Docs pump your gut full of gas to do your surgery which made me have hunger like queasiness. But then 2-3 gas-x strips I was good.

And protein? You need at least 50gms of protein a day to heal and nourish yourselfYou need to get a good one, low carb, low sugar to none and not high calorie. I like Isopure (GNC) and have been okay with premium protein. I do 2 scoops with 16 oz of almond milk with is less the calorie and tastes just like milk to me once in the shake. .. Plus it staves off your hunger. I couldn't get down a whole in one sitting, still can't. I just sip a few sips in the morning and have the rest at lunch and bang, there's my protein for the day. broth isn't enough for sure. I also love sugar freepopsicles and 40 calorie fudge pops to satisfy I just need something..Also try egg drop Soup but my surgeon said second week, so next week. Try making it, it's super yummy and satisfying.

I had my sleeve on 7/14 and I could eat a horse and chase the rider! I'm hungry all the time! I woke up from surgery hungry and asked why I was then, the next day was the same,He said its unusual, I see the surgeon Wednesday and I cant wait to hear what he has to say about this.

Wow, I wonder what they have to say about your hunger.. I was completely nauseous and couldn't eat for the first 3 days.

And really haven't had much of an appetite overall. maybe they didn't take out much of your grehlin? (Hunger hormone)

Ditto. I'm interested to hear what your doctor says. They told me it's head hunger, even though I feel and hear my stomach growling.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
