Please help me with protiens!!!

SHESHEGIRL, here's my take on what I've tried so far:

1) Muscle Milk Light - chocolate mint flavor: pretty good, tastes like chocolate milk, couldn't taste much mint flavor, but that's ok. Buy it at Walgreens.

2) EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control choclate flavor - ok, thicker, but not as good as #1 - bought it at Walmart. I have the strawberry, but haven't tried it yet.

3) powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein (used it in chicken broth) - EXCELLENT!! Just tasted the chicken broth, no taste of the Protein (no nasty smell either) Get it at Unjury.com I ordered several sample packets and they came REALLY quick.

4) Syntrax nectar Lemon Tea flavor - three words for this: NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!! Tastes and SMELLS AWFUL! Came in my sample pak from BariatricEating.com I have 17 more samples from this pak to try. I poured 1/3 of this bad boy down the drain. Was trying to force it down because 'I paid good money for it' and realized this was part of my eating problem - EAT IT ALL since you paid for it!! No need to gag down nasty ones when there are really good ones you can tolerate!!

I will post more 'reviews' on the additional ones in my sample paks if ya want me to.

i saw it today in gnc! i had my hands on it but decided to wait until went to bj's or another store for a better price. so could i drink that as a replacement meal, no right?;) its just so much Protein in it and if we have 3 meals a deal and get enough protein, is that protein overload...if there is such a thing(for our needs)

how do you all incorporate this in your day?

I ordered all of my shakes from GNC and got their "gold card" for $15 so I could get a discount every month. I figured it was worth it. They'll ship for free if you order a certain amount and you can usually find dicount codes on the web if you google them. You'll end up saving about 25% and get them delivered to your door. What could be easier?

Not many stores carry the Isopure and I think the prices I have heard are $3.99-$4.99 depending on the type.

The GNC card has seemed to be the way lots of folks have done the best with prices on it.

And yes, the belief is that the body can only process about 25 grams of protein at a time, so I'd suggest drinking about half at a time.

initially i got Isopure, but then just got the whey protien my grocery store was alot cheaper, but ewww.

finally i resolved, and still use premixed low carb slimfast (20 prot, 2carb, 180 calories) or Atkins shakes, or musclemilk and use them as meal replacesments when im too tight. i usually wind up working two of these in a day for Breakfast and snack in between lunch and dinner so i can get in the Protein.

When i get around sixty grams of protein in a day i FEEL significantly better and hardly any hunger.

Melaleuca Protein Shakes are great tasting and have 23 grams each at only 210 calories. Also, at Wal-Mart they have a product called Bod Fortress-huge reddish containers overby the diet aids in the Pharmacy area(ensure, slim-fast area) These shakes have 46 grams per and when mixed with Water have only 230 calories. These taste decent, but the Melaleuca ones are better!:car:

You gotta get out there and expand your horizons past the grocery store. One great way to get Protein in is Isopure clear drinks. I keep a stock of them at all times and when I have a day where things get past me and I'm not eating like I should, I just pour one over ice. They have about 7 flavors and are kindof fruit punch and one bottle will give you 40 grams of Protein. You can get it on line or in health food stores...especially body builder places. I found it at GNC in California, but the GNC here in Houston near me doesn't carry it. Check out the website.....

This stuff is GREAT!

ok I am being banded on Nov 6th and I just come back from a journey to Vitamin Shoppe - I have been to GNC, Vitamin world and Walmart with no luck - and I bought a small container of designer whey in natural flavor and I am hoping that it doesnt have much of a taste so I can add it to my broth and Water and all that yummy stuff I will be "eating" for the first 2 weeks. I also got one of those whey bullet things but from what I just read about them I am not sure I should drink that. I was also looking at the nectar stuff and it looked good but I didnt want to go crazy all at once. to me they had a bigger selection at vitamin shoppe then at any other store that I have been in and the prices didnt seem all that bad.

Go to supplement warehouse.com and order you some Liquid Protein. I had the same problem until someone told me about the whey. They come in 3oz size. They are thick like Jello Water so I add 3oz of water to them in a cup. It tastes great, goes down easy and you only need to get in 18 more grams of Protein. They are alos great tot take anywhere in your purse, no refrigeration needed.

Good luck it gets easier,

Kerri:clap2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
