Having my gastric sleeve done August 2nd

This preop diet is horrible but I am a headstrong person. I just hope I'm making the right decision which deep down I think I am. Just a little nervous.

Hello Whyiell, I'm sure it's natural to be nervous but I don't think there are many people who regret having the op. My date is 25 August and I am more excited than anything - perhaps the nerves will come later.

Where are you having your op done? There are areas of the forum that offer support for people living in different parts of the world, many who get their operations under insurance schemes. I'm in the UK and most people seem to pay for their own. I went to discuss it with my GP and was told there is a waiting list of 2-3 years, but realistically, as I don't have any health issues, it would be nearer l0 years! I definitely can't wait that long!

Good luck and let us know how you get on!
