Questions regarding my last fill!

Recommended Posts

I had an adjustment and got a full cc in on June 29th... I'm still not having much luck with solids. How long after a fill does your ability to eat solids come back. I've attempted and I get sick... I have gotten sick at least once per day since having my fill. My scale broke (cheap one) and I just bought a new one today and I'm down 15lbs since my fill on the 29th. Any advice? Should I be concerned?? Thanks

Wow 15 in like 3 wks! That seems a bit much, are you able to eat like really tiny tiny pieces of solids or no solids at all?

I think it's too tight, usually I feel the same about a day after a fill but it relaxes after and I'm fine with solids (most). Too tight and over time you'll have killer heartburn (I've been there) and other issues, try to schedule an unfill

Good for you getting in to see your doctor. They are our partners in this process. I have a test for myself -- salmon and broccoli. I need to be able to eat those without trouble. And a fried egg. That's got to go down well. Of course I have to chew and chew plus go slowly (I still have to fight the urge to shovel in my food). I think we all have certain foods that work well for us and that we are all different. chicken seems to be difficult for many banders. I only have it if it's dark meat that I've cooked myself and it cannot be reheated. Something about the fibrous texture? And time of day matters for me. I am not hungry in the morning so I don't eat; evenings are "looser" for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
