Fruit Snacks and Crackers?!

Recommended Posts

Ok guys. Im 28 days post op. at my 2.5 week check up I was cleared for soft foods and down 22.5 pounds. I noticed since starting soft foods, Ive gained about 3 pounds which I was told was normal, and should stabalize soon. The scale has been stuck for about a week and has not moved! could it be the occassional pack of fruitsnacks ive had? or the 2-3 crackers Ive had??

yes, he did..I was told wheat crackers were fine in moderation. as far as the fruit snacks they were sugar free, but ive decided to just eliminate them completely until further out

I am on a strict budget, so Walmart is my go to, my wife helped me research and we came up with some cool Snacks, I wanted the prepackaged ones that have a small amount of nuts, meat, and cheese but they were $1.67 ea., instead we bought a large package of Jerky, can of Cashews, and round baby cheese, we'd took baggies and I used our new kitchen scale( my wife is awesome in getting me things I need to accomplish my goals), and measured out 1oz portions in each bag, I have enough snacks for 2weeks, I don't try to snack everyday, but if I do these are my go to, later this year we will also invest in a vacuum bag system so we can store larger bulk items and meats since I only use 5oz at a time, good luck

My doctor said I could have crackers as long as they have e grams of fiber. I am also stalled so I am wondering if I should cut that out

I cut crackers out for 2 days, and my stall broke. So it could be the crackers

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
