Great news @@chrisredjeep like you I have no pain. If you get/have Constipation, I can highly recommend 'Movicol' (bariatric nurse suggestion) got a prescription from GP as I got constipated on the pre-op diet which continued post-op; 24hrs later I was well sorted.

Great to hear you are doing so well Chris. Are you taking any Vitamins? Long term I hope to be ok by eating a healthy, balanced diet as I know I would forget to take the vitamins. I'm hopeless with taking tablets for anything! I do recognise I should take them at the start, so can anyone recommend any good ones sold in the UK and would I be able to get them on prescription?

I got Centrum liquid off Amazon for the first 2 months and have started taking it now as tablets make me feel sick whilst on the pre op diet. My surgeon has suggested Centrum Advanced for later and as I have used Centrum before with no issues, I will stick with them.

The liquid vitamins taste nice, no aftertaste and go down well. Its about £20 for a months worth. I will be getting my B12 injections at the GP Surgery every 3 months.

Nice to see you are home and well @@chrisredjeep :D

Currently waiting for gastric bypass procedure , I have an appointment in September which will involve me having a comprehensive medical inc seeing the Anethetist , weigh myself meet the nurse , surgeon , blood tests and psychiatric evaluation . Does any one know roughly the time between going to this evaluation and the operation itself as still have not received a surgery date yet and thought there might be a time frame that can't be exceeded between the evaluation and actual surgery inc pre op diet . As circumstances and body may change ... A less complicated way of explaining what I mean is that all the results from the evaluation made on me could become invalid or wrong if operation is not preformed relatively soon after my medical ....?? Any one else know?

Also all the other hospital appointments I've had , have had a 6 months in between them hence why I'm thinking will I wait another gap between this appointment and surgery .

@@pippinleicester Nice to meet you too! We are such a welcoming bunch us UK ladies and gents ;). My surgeon said lots of people are having WLS in the UK and increasing a lot year by year. Its a great site here but nothing beats talking to people who know whats what in the UK. It's nice to meet someone who's a few months out!!

@@tia92 I think everywhere is different and it might be best to ask the team you are working with. They will know the time frame for their own surgeons either NHS or private, Waiting can be the annoying thing can't it however it will give you the time to really prepare yourself. I wish you all the best and a speedy surgery :D

@Kate_UK@Soodoo. I sometimes don`t like to mention this too much because I know some people have awful experiences but the whole thing has been a piece of cake (pardon the pun) for me. I had virtually no pain and was back at work in a week.I have had no problems post-op and am still losing steadily every month, perhaps not as fast as some but I had a band before this and people who switch tend to lose slower.I am still delighted with my 70lbs loss and best of all those scales are still going down and never up.I am in a real groove now with the new way of eating and feel like I could carry on for ever.Pippinleicester.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
