Hi All! I'm scheduled for August 6th. I agree that time seems to be crawling by. My surgeon has me starting the shakes/liquid diet a week from tomorrow. I'm tempted to pig out on all my favorite junk foods that I'll never eat again (at least not for a LOOOONG time) but I know I'd hate myself afterward. It's taken me months to lose 10 lbs and I'm sure without too much effort I could gain it back in a week! Been reading about the regret some folks feel immediately post surgery, like they've made a huge mistake by getting sleeved. Also heard from folks in a local sleeve support group to expect substantial hair loss. Trying to stay positive and feel empowered about doing this but definitely a little scared. Can anyone relate??

hair loss? Really? Seems like that would only happen if they weren't getting enough vitamins/nutrients. Thoughts? I will have to bring this up with my Dr.

I have a friend who did the BYPASS and wished she had done the sleeve instead.

Hello,

So I've been reading a lot of the post on here and I haven't posted anything myself just because I wasn't sure if it was even going to happen but I finally got my surgery date yesterday yay!!! My surgeon is requiring me to be on a liquid diet from now until my surgery date. Does anyone know if its possible to lose 15 pounds before August 6th??

@@theatrejo I can completely relate to worrying about messing this opportunity up. I imagine a lot of people here feel that way. That said, I'm sure that you won't have a problem.

I'm going through the same issue right now. I told my husband there are a couple restaurants I absolutely wanted to go to before I start my pre-op diet and I don't feel the need to be super stressed about my diet in this last 10 days leading up to the pre-op diet, but I'm also not trying to go crazy at the same time. That being said, we are going to my favorite restaurant this weekend and then I think next week I'm going to be a bit more nutritious and diet-conscious leading up to the 27th when my liquid diet begins.

Getting sleeved August 17th in Piedra Niegras, Mexico. My deposit for the date went in Monday, was received and booked Tuesday, got all my paperwork and VSG manual, and yesterday my passport card finally came back in the mail. Super, super, super official now!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
