Sweet! How long have you had it and how much have you lost?

As of this morning I am down exactly 26lbs at 7 weeks. This includes a 2-3 week stall after losing 17lbs the first 3 weeks. It's not as fast as some but I'm pleased. I'm averaging 1 1/2 to 2lbs these past few weeks which should bring me to my goal well before my 1 year. Hopefully before my 42nd birthday in April but honestly no rush. I'm trying to enjoy this after stressing so much on my rapid way back up these past few years.

It's good to see so many are successful with band to sleeve revision. I need a bit more consistency for myself. The band does what the band wants as we know. Too tight one day, not enough the next, etc etc. I'm honestly tired of fighting it! Well I have to fight it for several more months but hopefully early next year I can get rid of it and I'll have the sleeve :)

Good! I think that's a good amount. So I'm just preparing my mind to live off of yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein Shakes, and whatever else proforma

Protein. I'm not even going to try to eat carbs or anything else. 4 ounces is NOT much so protein it is...

Have you ever tried Syntrax Nectar or Syntrax Sweets Protein? FANTASTIC. 100 cals and 23g protein per scoop. No sugar added. Many flavors! Twisted cherry and vanilla bean torte are my faves.

In 55 days I have lost 35 pounds! Right now this thing was worth it. 264.8 to 229.1 this morning. Blood pressure is down, sleeping better and look way better. I was apprehensive after the band because I could anything I wanted with the band. Now I cannot eat much at all. Surgery was easier than the band. I encourage anyone to do it.

I was banded in Feb 2012 and lost 25lbs and then gained about 100. I did revision on 7/1/2015 and Dow 30lbs.

I had minimal scar tissue so revision was easy the doctor shared. Wish I did this surgery the first go round!!

Hi i was banded in 2010 and I lost 88 lbs but gained most of it back as the band failed and it was finally removed in Aug 2014. In Oct 2014 i was revised to vertical sleeve gastrectomy and i have lost 148 lbs and i still have a fair bit to go but best thing is, weight is coming off! VSG has been the best thing i have ever done for my health and wellbeing. Best wishes to you on your journey.

That's good to hear. I have had my band in since 2008 and have thrown up multiple times a day since so I'm worried there could be problems they find when they take the band out Friday. I was worried the sleeve surgery would be worse than the band since you have to be in the hospital for 2 days and have a drain and all that. Hopefully it's not! ! Won't have the sleeve done for 6 weeks after Friday.

That is AWESOME! it's good to hear that stuff cause when you have the band and it fails, you worry that everything else might "fail". Gives me hope!

I have had a band in late 2010 and have lost 110 lbs (330 - 220#). I have always had issues with certain foods but recently 3-6 months it has gotten worse where sometimes I can't even drink Water.

Had an UGI done 2 weeks ago and it showed nothing was passing through and dilated esophagus. Did another a week later with same result.

My doc recommends conversion to bypass but I think I prefer a sleeve since it is less invasive and does not re-arrange your digestive system and has fewer side effects. That was the reason why I did not do a bypass in the first place.

It seems like bands have really fallen out of favor with almost 70% complications and conversions.

I am still not comfortable having another surgery but probably don't have another option. I am waiting for insurance approval. Not sure if they will approve since I probably do not need more weight loss but I am worried I will gain all the weight back if I do only the band removal. My doc even bet me $1000 that I will.

I do not really need to loose (much) more weight as people are already asking me constantly about the weight loss and I have even had some ask if I had some medical issues, even though I do not feel skinny. My BMI is still close to 30 which makes me overweight but after losing 110 lbs already I do already have a lot of extra skin which is not that attractive.

I am wondering if a sleeve or bypass will cause even more weight loss ? I don't mind loosing up to 20 lbs more but it should be no more than 1 lb per month. If I can get to 199-200 lbs in 2 years I would be happy.

I would do the sleeve. Taking out the band after having years of restriction and then all of the sudden... no restriction, you WILL gain!

If you need the band removed get another procedure. I was shocked at how hungry I was and quickly I gained weight in the 2 or so months after band was removed and before I had my sleeve. 8 years later I thought my band wasn't working at all but my hunger returned in full force.

I had the band for 5 years. I lost 110 pounds and gained all of it back (due to my own bad eating). I noticed with the band, more ppl gain the weight back because you can still eat a lot if you can get it by that band. Recently (really recently as in just a month), I got sleeved. I've lost 40pounds. I've noticed you can't get a lot of food in period. I gave seen ppl who gained weight back with the sleeve but the percentage is low compared to the band. It's, once again, going to be determined by how you approach food. So far, I've noticed a different in the two in terms of food intake.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
