I agree with @@sarabeth82 - it gets way better everyday. you may have a dip in energy/emotions here and there, but by and large, the further out you are from surgery the less unstable you'll feel. Just know that it's normal, and it'll pass!

Hi, your not alone. I think it's the anesthesia. Every time I have surgery I am an emotional wreck for a good 2 months afterwords.

If you need to cry, then you just cry. Just please know it does get better! I just had my Tummy Tuck on 3\20\15 and even though it ease over 4 months ago. I still cry at sad commercials lol.

It will be OK. Jus think. I had my gastric bypass surgery on 6\25\13, lost 162 lbs. I am not lookin back. Best thing I EVER did!!!!!!!

Did I have complications, yes. But still, I would do it again.

Good luck. We are here for you!!!!

I made this account for my mom who had the sleeve done on 7/14. She came home yesterday afternoon. This evening she started getting very emotional saying she should have never done the surgery & started to cry. Her doctor said she can take a Xanax as needed. After talking to her to calm her down she finally started to relax & I gave her half of a .25mg xanax she had. I'm just happy to see this is considered a "normal" reaction. She had some complications (low blood pressure) hours after the surgery thanks to the anesthesiologist. I just want to make sure her emotions are normal. I can't wait to show her this page in the morning to show her she's not the only one. Thank you!

Please give your mom our best. We are a great forum to ask and answer questions! I had gastric bypass and went through the same emotions! I'm only 2.5 weeks out so tell your mom it does get better.

Totally normal! Try to get out and walk a little bit if you can. A change of scenery I bet would help. Call friends. Think of how healthy and happy you'll be. This too shall pass. I hope you feel better soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
