I have seen my surgeon and dietician numerous times for this issue that I keep having in the same thing I keep hearing is give it time keep pushing fluids and Protein in two more months you will not feel like you do right now. I had gastric bypass in April. At times when I have tried to introduce food I have felt horrible so they tell me to back off go back to liquid for a few days and then progressed again. Each time I introduce food to this pouch I feel sick to my stomach I feel like its stuck even though I am chewing 50-60 times before I swallow baby size bites. My question is what are all of you eating or what were all of you eating at 10 weeks out? I've discovered that I seriously cannot get a Protein Shake in whatsoever. My body literally rejecting the second I sipped them. The dietitian suggested sipping warm liquids before I eat a meal to kind of wake my pouch up. I do that but the second I eat something again my body rejects food unable to get it down but within minutes I feel nauseated and it comes up please help.

They have not checked for a structure. I was able to get down ground turkey and it sets fine. Some things that fine like mashed potatoes, hummus refried Beans. It seems as though anything with texture that I chew in shoe in shoe again just doesn't want to sit in there. It's so depressing because I get sick to my stomach with a Protein Shake and I'm trying to get the Protein in but when I vomit its like the pouch is done with everything for the day and it interferes with my Water intake. I'm finding that when I'm standing and getting incredibly busy now

I am experiencing the same thing, anytime I introduced solids they would feel as if I had heartburn until they either finally pass or throw up. Surgeon seems to think possible stricture so I'm scheduled Thursday to get endoscopy done. Be strong, tell them you want checked for stricture

I am so sorry this is happening to you!

I know this might be a frustrating question but if you take a day without regular food, are you able to get full liquids down. I mean 64 oz. of Water or broth or crystal light type drinks.

I ask this only because sometimes it helps literally to give your stomach more time to heal. Some people take longer. And of course when you do eat something and it ruins your day, getting liquids down after that is a no go. This could and probably is making your dehydration, nausea much worse. Resetting to liquids only for a few days may give your stomach a break.

You are quite a ways out already to be back on liquids but I have read about others who have had this happen. Also, I know for the first 3 months I would have to sip on room temp or warm fluids before I could even try to eat anything. I really did have to wake my pouch up slowly.

If you cannot get liquids only down for a whole day without getting sick I would go back to my doctor and push to see if there is a structure going on or something else.

I hope you feel better soon!

I was having issues getting goods down and was throwing up a lot. My PA put me on omepramazol to heal the esophagus. Within days I have been able to tolerate 99% of things! I am only throwing up once in a while and I am about 12 weeks out. Consult with your surgeon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
