I just found this group. I had bypass on June 8th also! It's been a lot of ups and downs with my moods and emotions, and my energy. I'm already sick of Protein Shakes. I've been good most days with Water. I can really tell the next morning when I'm not. I wish I could walk more but today I'm not in the mood! What kind of exercise is everyone doing?

I've been doing zumba and walking. But my stomach is still a little achy at times, so I haven't been able to do it every day yet. Fluids are still hard sometimes. When I drink Water I sometimes get a uncomfortable, almost like I can feel the water traveling down through everything, I know that sounds so weird. I've been better the past few days, getting typically six cups on, but I'm still pushing to get my 8 a day. I'm also not loving Protein Shakes. I ordered some unflavored Protein, and some of the fruit flavored Nectars and I want to try those in water. Doing the shakes with milk, I don't really like it

I started pureed on Monday. Some days are hard to get all Fluid in. I try 3 Protein Shakes (1 with almond milk and 2 with water). I ordered the sample pack from Syntrax. 15 samples of nectar for $15. I also try to drink 8 oz of V8 and a 12oz bottle of Powerade Zero or Vitamin Water Zero. Thats 5 of my 8 servings of fluids. So that leaves 3 more for water.

For food I usually try Cereal in morning. My favorite is graham cracker and milk. Also tried oatmeal which was ok. I try to get either fruit or veg at lunch and a Protein for supper. Each of these is usually 3 oz. Then in the evening I have yogurt, pudding, or a sugar free fudgecicle. Thats about all I can manage so far. I did buy ingredients for the cheese bake to try and also roast beef hash.

Went back to work today and I was really tired after only a 4 hour shift.

It doesn't sound weird to me! Lately I have to really sip my water. It's not easy because I've always been a chugger. I'm from Jersey, we rush everything!!! And I'm so over protein shakes. I'm trying to eat more protein. But I still need to supplement.

I'm tired of Protein shakes also but gotta get it in somehow! I tried eating an egg this morning and managed about half before I felt that pressure in my chest. Is that normal? I feel like I should be able to eat a whole egg? Almost everything I've tried I can only eat two or three bites and I'm feeling that pressure! Had surgery June 1st. I've only lost 20lbs since surgery, that doesn't sound right either? How's everybody else doing?

My surgery date was June 1. I'm in soft foods and struggle to get all my Proteins in without depending on my shakes. I'm looking forward to my 6 week check up when he will clear me for weight training. I'm bored with walking....

Ok I'm four weeks out now and it seems everything makes me sick that I try to eat besides yougurt! it seems I should be able to eat mashed potatoes, scrambled egg, or smooshed Beans without getting sick! I can't eat real food till 6 weeks but I can't even handle soft foods so am I ever going to be able to eat anything? What are ya'll eating?

I had my surgery June 22. I am on full liquids this week, and pretty much have been going between sugar free popsicles and no sugar added apple sauce. I have been unable to do broth, Powerade zero and Jello since surgery, they make me nauceous. I did try vegetarian minestone Soup broth yesterday and that was amazing. I am looking forward to next week when I can do stage 3, pureed foods.

Pain wise I have been fine, just having a little itchyness now around the big incision. My dr was great and didnt go anywhere near the bra or pant line. I haven't taken any pain medicines since last Wednesday, which is great for me. I had a hard time right after surgery because I was so sick from the medicine that they gave me prior to surgery.

Good luck with everyone's journey

Hi everyone, I had my RNY on June 10th and am feeling very positive about the surgery and am trying to not look at this as a negative but rather a positive and where I will be in 8 to 12 months from now. I have had a couple of friends that are a few months ahead of me and are giving me a few pointers and thought I would share.

I have yet to even feel hungry, I do try to stick to a pattern, I eat my three meals aday, which include canned ham, canned chicken, hamburger and eggs. I have tried to be creative. with my ham and chicken I add the olive oil mayo and a baby spoon of relish to make ham and chicken salad. Baby food fruit (peaches, bananas, pears, and apples) are actually not bad. I have pureed cans of greeen Beans, peas, and carrots, I measured these in 1 oz cups that I got at GFS and froze them so I go just get instantly warm and then ready, also do this with the meat.

I have also ate out. At Mexican restaurant I grabbed 1oz of meat out of hubby's taco and ordered a side of refried Beans. I added some of the queso to the meat and was so good. At Bob Evans I ordered scrambled eggs and green beans or another time husband ordered the pot roast and I took 1 oz of his roast.

I use sugar free popcicles and sugar free Jello to help get my liquids in. I also make my popcicles from sugar free koolaid if can't afford to buy them. I try to drink a Protein shake 1 hour after each meal, which helps to get the Protein in. Thanks to friends and testing, the best tasting ones you can find cheaper online. My friends recommended to me and I recomment them too are powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Splendor powder mix (found online) also their Chicken Soup Mix. Also, nectar brand vanilla Torte, chocolate Truffle, and Fuzzy Navel. If looking for protein to go try Pure Protein in banana, strawberry or Chocolate, you can buy these in the Vitamin Shoppes or their websites.. I will also add half 2% milk and half Water to all the powder mixes with ice to help improve the flavor. Also pudding and Jello flavors. Hope this will help some of you too. I am down 30 lbs today and hoping for a few more lbs before my 30 day visit with Dr on Friday. Sorry for such long posting, thought I would share what has been shared with me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
