Bathing Suits Post WLS - I know "first world problems"

Recommended Posts

Ok folks, who has been able to find a decent bathing suit that you can feel comfortable in? Apparently losing 80+ pounds has not made this process easier, much to my dismay. Has anyone been shopping and found a store that has a decent selection? HELP!

I was sleeved April 20 and love to swim. Since I am super morbidly obese, finding good suits has always been a challenge.

I like the two piece Tankinis from Woman Within. I am wearing a size down from my last-years pre-surgery suit and just ordered another size down so I will be prepared.

I am not yet where I can buy suits at a store. But, when I get small enough, I've always liked Lands End suits. It's been a long time since I've bought one from them so I don't know what they are like lately.

Last summer I felt much like you. I was pissed that after all of that work and so much weight lost, I was still stuck in a suit with a skirt and struggled to find even one. I ended up at Lands End. I loved their selection and their quality.

This summer, I reached my "dream goal" and had my tummy tuck/panni, so it has been a pain free shopping process. In fact I need to stop myself. I've bought my first 2 bikinis and I want more!!! :-)

Thanks! I will check that out. I am a little frustrated but I know I just need to be patient. :-)

I know what you mean though. I've lost 155 pounds and still feel ike I look like crap in a pair of shorts because of what I see as "saggy" inner thigh skin. It's frustrating when you lose weight and still don't feel comfortable in things you thought you would.

I have no shame. I bought 2 fatkinis on sale and love wearing them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
