@@Hisbrowneyedgirl I have never had surgery. So anything you can tell me. I am excited but I guess nervous at the same.time.

This was my first as well. I asked for an anxiety med during pre op. My nerves were shot. I only remember flashes after that. My husband said it was about 3 hours from when I left him until I was put in my room. My only pain was from my hernia repair. Morphine was a godsend! I slept most of that first day. The second day was so much better. I was walking around, doing Water and sleeping.

36 hours post op and feeling good.

Just drank the dye for my X-ray not the greatest taste but tolerable.

A diet of ice chips yesterday and walk walk walk minimal discomfort. The worst was immediately after surgery I had lots of gas pain in the chest and shoulder thankfully it started to ease off after about two hours. I was up walking about 1 hour after getting back to my room from recovery. The hospital INT here in Tijuana has been wonderful the staff so attentive and quick to respond to any needs. The language barrier has not really been an issue. I'm so happy I did this and hope the rest of my journey goes as well. I have a 5.5 hour flight Saturday home that I'm a little concerned about but sure it'll be fine.

Thank you so much.???? I'll be sure to ask for something as well during pre-op.

Had mine done Monday, 6/15. Got pretty nervous about the whole thing and was wondering what the heck I was doing. Didn't back out though. The surgeon talked to my wife about 40 minutes after it started, but it was another 2 hours or so before I was moved to my room. No hernia and it went well from his perspective.

So far, surgery day has been the worst. I ran a low-grade fever, and my blood pressure stayed high for the 24 hours I was in the hospital. I bring that up because I've only registered high blood pressure 1 time. Normally I run on the low side. I ended up having a bit of trouble with the morphine. I dry-heaved a couple times from it but nothing too horrible. We went ahead and switched to percacet (sp?) which seemed to help the nausea. I got up several times and walked laps around the halls. I suspect that is why I have had almost no gas pains. would strongly suggest walking as much as you can if you can get out of bed. I've pushed the walking pretty hard and I think that has helped with recovery.

The first time I brushed my teeth at home after the surgery I brushed my tongue. BIG MISTAKE, the gag reflex got me and I threw up. So, mental note made, be careful when brushing teeth. That is the only time i've actually thrown up except for the dry heaves from the morphine.

I don't seem to have any trouble getting Water down, at all. Protein is a different topic though. I like the Protein2.0 you can buy at Kroger, but it only has 15 grams of Protein. Isopure has a lot more protein, 40 I think, in only 4 extra Fluid ounces. Dang it's gross though. I'm trying to drink the Isopure the most but it's tough.

Haven't really been hungry, which obviously is totally weird. I sat with the family at dinner and it didn't really bother me to eat/slurp broth while they ate the good stuff. I lost 5 lbs during the 1 week pre-op diet, and 10 post-op so far. I'm really trying to push the protein to keep that number growing.

Hi all! Surgery was yesterday. I didn't feel too great after I woke up, the pain was pretty bad (almost in par with my C-section), & I vomited a little blood but I feel AMAZING today! Because I traveled ystdy was a very long day, so I went into surgery pretty darn crabby because I had been up since 2am Thurs morning. But I feel so much better now.

Hotel Angeles is a great hospital; I'm so glad I had it done here. Nicest nurses and docs.

I just got home from the hospital (today is Friday). I was sleeved on Wednesday and had an umbilical hernia repair. I think the hernia repair hurts more than anything. I struggled badly with pain when I was woken up from the surgery and for the rest of the day. But today I feel kind of happy. Strangely, I'm more focused on healing than losing weight. Hopefully weight loss happens too :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
