Everyone on here has somewhat of a different regimen I guess depending on surgeon, mine is 14 days pre-op, I started last week, 2 Protein Shakes and one small meal, I chose Breakfast, lunch Protein because of my work schedule, and small dinner which has been great since my wife is an awesome cook, I choose not to snack on things and prefer shaved ice with MIO over the top, i am on a tight budget so I had to do my work and shop around , I saved over $150.00 on my protein and Vitamins, make sure you give yourself variety and allow for as much Water as possible, I got different flavors for my water and I'm not even missing soda pops, the only drawback I had was several moments of lethargy and slight dizzy feeling having to fast for my pre op labs, biggest thing is don't jump into what your surgeon's dietician sells you especially if you notice that they sell most of these things there, there are several websites that offer the same thing for a fraction of the cost, the pretty wrapping is for advertising but the important thing is what is inside!

I have 3 days left of the prep diet. My surgeon requires 10 days of 3-4 Protein shakes, unlimited Clear liquids and 2 cups of approved veggies per day. I struggled the most the 2nd through the 5th day due to headaches. I've stuck to it and at this point I know I am so close I won't cheat. I've lost 8 pounds so far which is great motivation for me!

I have never been more ready for this surgery than I am now. My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday June 3rd...so excited to get to the next phase of my journey:-)

Bil - what part of Texas do you live in? I am in North Texas and also do not have a support system. My surgery will likely not happen until the first week in July.

My surgery is on June 17th. I plan to start my pre-op on June 1st. My diet will be 2-3 Protein shakes per day plus 1 healthy meal which includes chicken or fish and a salad w/ lowfat dressing or certain vegies. The third shake is if I am still feeling hungry, along with a very small amount of greek yogurt, sliced cheese, almonds, etc as a snack. I will stick to 2 Protein Shakes and 1 light meal each day if possible. I don't plan to eat more than that unless I am really starving !

I am getting nervous now that my surgery is just around the corner. This site has helped me tremendously.

I'm June 24th. My preop diet isn't too bad. It says "a high Protein, low carbohydrate diet, consuming no more than 1000 calories per day." I'm allowed to even use Lean Cuisines and stuff! I only have to start liquids at 3pm the day before surgery. :)

I'm getting really excited! I've told my husband, my mom, and a few friends. I don't think I'll ever tell my dad. He's so judgmental.

Another sleeve sister! i'm June 23rd. Do we have the same dad? My dad wanted me to lose wieght and I only see him every two years or so he lives on the west coast. I don't think I can tell him either. It would be hard to explain to him. His way of telling me to lose weight was to not eat american food only korean food.< /p>

@@nandjsmom I do not meet the BMI requirements either for surgery, but I am following my doctor's pre op diet of shakes and veggies for 10 days and Clear Liquids for 2 days before...all high Protein, zero carbs, multi Vitamin, lots of Water. I look at it as training to discipline myself not to grab the quickest thing in fridge...I have to plan, plus I'm losing weight before surgery...less work after!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
