Newbie here --- my surgery was March 24, 2015

Hi all,

I'm so happy to have found this forum! It's a relief to find people with the same kind of journey full of trials and tribulations! Since my surgery I have only lost 9lbs. I have been very disappointed with the scale since the surgery. My surgeon has set a weight loss goal of 35lbs when I see him in June. I'm not even close to that! I'm hopeful that I can get some really good advise through these forums to help me get back into weight loss mode. I am logging in myfitnesspal everyday, I'm going to the gym everyday, most days I get at least 70 grams of Protein in, the only thing I do struggle with is my Water. I'm not sure how you all can get it in and not drink with meals or 30 mins after. Maybe some one has some good advise for that.

At this point I can't say that I'm happy I had the surgery, hopefully someday soon I can say that.

Welcome mamaD. Don't worry you'll get happy later on:) It's hard during the first few weeks. You'll adjust slowly but surely and you'll get happier all the time.

I have trouble with liquids too. Plain Water doesn't sit well for some reason. If I make iced tea I can drink quite a bit of it. Sometimes just changing the water into something else makes a big difference.

Some don't drink with meals and some do. I usually drink a little bit but not much. It takes up room that I want to use for the food.

Your weight loss will kick in any day now! Hang in there.

Hello,

My surgery was March 23. I've lost 35 lbs. so far. In Stage 5 of eating. Learning to slowly try new foods. How are you doing?
