@abbyrn27. How does that Unjury taste? Are you mixing it with the power ade?

My hospital mixed it with lactose free skim milk (the chocolate kind) and I really liked it. It wasn't too sweet which I liked. I'm going to order some now that I know I like it. I also tried the chicken broth one and that was good too.

Just curious as to what others drinking today and for the next two days.

So far I'm only drinking Water. I've been slowly drinking my Protein shake. I am having trouble with the pain after I drink something. Do you have this problem too? It's taking me a whole day just to finish a bottle of Water :o I'm a bit worried about that
I'm having the same but I know people who didn't drink enough and had to go into the infusion center for iv fluids. So I've got myself on a good pain med schedule and trying to sip through the pain. What meds are you on?

smcobos2 I am having trouble drinking Water because of my hernia repair my doctor told me I am swollen more than usual but eating popciles will help. After I eat a popcile I have able to drink thinker liquids. I have been drinking also propel water, crystal light, diet snapple, and sugar free Jell-O.

Yeah rough going with just Tylenol with Codeine. I'm on oral dilaudid, gas drops, levecin for spasms and Tylenol if I need it. They also gave me valium for sleeping. I don't take drugs for even a headache so it's weird to have so many heavy hitters.

They gave me liquid Vicodin and Oxycodone. I also was given Flexril for spasms and Zofran for nausea. I am a RN so while I was in the hospital I made sure I got one a good pain regime before I left the hospital.

I'm a nurse too! I manage 3 departments in the hospital where my surgery was so I think I got a little VIP treatment. I was also very pleased with the pain med regime.

I agree abbyrn27. I had my surgery in one of the hospitals I work in and my daughter was impressed how well we were taken care of.

Well guys, my surgery was on Monday and I have had a rough couple of days. The first day actually went really well, was up walking 2 hours after surgery, got down some juice, Water, Jello. I went home Tuesday afternoon but got really sick Tuesday night. Threw up 3 times during the night and once this morning. I am feeling better today though. sleeping and walking all day as much as I can. I have not been able to get much down but that is improving now as well. I definitely felt really terrible last night though. :( Just have to keep reminding myself this will get better within a couple of days. Anyone else have any vomiting?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
