I had my surgery Thursday and I'm having those spasms when I take a drink. Even if it is a small sip I get a sharp pain across my chest. Does anyone know how long this usually lasts? I'm so ready to feel normal again.

For myself it only lasted 2 days

Also sleeved the 6th, and feeling pretty good overall.

The best piece of advice my doctor and NUT had was to put the scale away! right now all that need to be worried about is healing. I am just trying my hardest to get my Fluid and Protein in every day and I can tell its working. Do I want to use the scale, yes!!! but I know I would just be obsessing over the number, so just going to weigh myself at the doc till at least 6 weeks out.

That being said my first post op appointment is tomorrow and I cannot wait!

I was sleeved on April 8. I'm having a hard time getting in my Protein but I keep reminding myself that I'm I'm only 5 days post op and didn't have a good first two days. I haven't weighed myself and I'm choosing not too. Way to much stress for me. I have to find better liquid alternatives for protein. The struggle is really.

The struggle is real my friend... what are you doing for protein? are you able to have full liquids yet? (creamed Soup, yogurt, thinned cream of wheat?) I am in love with Fair Life milk. its lactose free and has less sugar and more protein, has helped with my protein goals putting it in my shakes, soup, etc

I am on full liquids. I tried cream of wheat but it made my belly gassy. I will try it again more thinned out and see if that helps. I actually enjoyed the creamed Soups and had a yogurt today and added Protein powder to it. It was just too sweet but I will try it again tomorrow with less. My partner is super supportive trying to find ways to help me get my Protein in also.

My first post-op appointment is tomorrow too!

Where do you get the Fair Life milk? I need something to add to Soups that doesn't alter the taste in a negative way.

Thanks!

I am also on full liquids. But my doctor explained full liquids as Protein Shakes, broth, Water or Crystal light, and diet Jell-O. Absolutely nothing else. And they said no more than 2 to 3 Protein shakes per day. This is supposed to be for the first four weeks as per my surgeons request. I don't know how I'm going to do it

I had my sleeve done on 4/6 and since my husband is deployed and I have a son I think I had to bounce back rather quickly so I feel fine. I do however miss food. I'm not hungry, I know that. But I have to cook for my son and it really makes me wish I could eat.

I'm an April 6 sleeve too! The hardest part so far is having to cook for my 7 kids. I needed a night off from cooking, so we ordered pizza tonight. The aroma smelled so good that I had to make the kids take the food outside. Is that terrible? Also, I have this horrible pain in my lower left part of abdomen when I stand or walk too much; sometimes feels like a baby moving around in my belly. That was definitely weird for me. The only thing that relieves this pain is to sit for a while. Wearing supportive high rise pants helps too. Another thing is that I have a hard time sleeping more than one to two hours at a time. This has been so exciting and scary at the same time; I have lost 30 pounds already.

Hi all I'm a newbie to this site but already have picked up some good info. I was sleeved 14.4.15 and I'm 5 days out. I'm feeling ok so far. What did everyone start eating after 5 days? What was your diet like?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
