Hi everyone! I was looking for some info if anyone can provide it. I just got sleeved on March 30 2015 and everything seems to be going really good except my heart rate is in the low side, generally in the low 40s. They had a cardiologist come in and he basically said it could be from anesthesia but he is having me wear a heart monitor for 30 days. Has this happened to anyone else? If so do you know what it ended up being from and how long did it take to regulate? Thank you in advance!

My husband has a very low heart rate, due to all the cardio he does daily. It's a good thing you have the monitor; maybe write down all the little oddities you notice while you are wearing it, so your team can deduce what the issue is. All the best to you....

I had/have the exact opposite problem. I'm almost 2 months post op and my resting pulse is fine, but any exertion sends it over 100. It's really crappy, makes it feel like I've not lost a lb. I hope yours sorts itself out soon!

@canyonbaby:

Thank you for the advice. The heart monitor has a cell phone it connects to and if I start feeling dizzy or anything I push a couple buttons on the monitor and it then sends it to the phone. Then it asks me questions like were you laying down or what you were actively doing etc. Then it sends that off for the report at the end of the month. I'm hoping it just regulates itself.

@ckj:

Thank you for sharing! I haven't done anything physical yet besides walking the halls in the hospital. And even one time that I had been walking they took my heart rate right after and it was still low. Boooo!

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
