Maybe the Bariatric surgeon will confront the asshole doctor on your behalf. I probably would have caused a scene going off on the doctor. If anything like that happens again- let it rip!!! You both have been through so much and don't need to take any crap from anyone at this point. I pray that tomorrow is a better day for you both. Lori

@@LSF Thank you! I kept my cool but was held my ground. I just found out the bariatric surgeon that was on call this weekend was the head of the entire hospital system's bariatric department. I REALLY wish I had known that when he came by. I'm sure he'd like to know how the doctors in his own hospital are treating his bariatric patients. Granted, we aren't in the location that has the bariatric floor, but still. This hospital system is an award winning bariatric hospital.

This makes me appreciate my hospital. The staff was so nice and my roommate was there for a Tummy Tuck - she had the sleeve a couple of years ago so I was pumping her with questions while we were both so out if it. Hope today is a better day for you

No, she's been vomiting this morning, well dry heaves. Nausea is back with full vengeance. Pain not much better.

The Director came by to see me today and I gave her the entire detailed story, she took detailed notes, asked good questions, was appropriately aghast and profusely apologetic about the doctor and she was filing the complaint with the folks above her as well (I forget who.) She is having them contact me and marched off to assure that this doctor was off her case and a new one assigned stat. She even asked about why he took her off the IV pain medication and put her on Norco if she was still so nauseated. He did finally order her back on IV pain meds yesterday after I was complaining to the nurses and her pain was unmanageable.

Oh, man. Are they trying to get this nausea under control? SO glad you made a formal complaint! Very happy you won't have to deal with that doctor again. I hope they make him personally give you and your daughter a formal apology. What he said was completely unethical and ridiculous. Still praying she feels better.

They're trying to get the nausea under control with Zofran and Phenergan but they are suspecting it's caused by the stone. We just really need to get this damn thing OUT. I think it's possibly moving a bit today since her kidney pain is back.

@@ssourgirl - She is truly fortunate to have a mam bear like you. I'm glad the director came by and you were able to file your complaint. That dude was all kinds of wrong.

@ssourgirl So glad you were able to get your story to the director. Unfortunately, I've seen so often doctors forget the most basic rules of compassion. Once you lose your compassion in healthcare (or education) is seriously time to reevaluate and make a change, because no longer are there to help. Believe me if he treated you this way can you only imagine how he might be treating other patients too sick to argue or their families that may be afraid to stand up for themselves? I hope the next hospital internist assigned takes time to listen and discuss a thorough treatment plan with the other advising doctors. This is something you can request as well. It is a meeting with all the treating doctors to discuss a path forward. It forces them to be on the same page.

I also really am wishing for you that you do get a break for a few hours.

How long til they can get the stone out? Another week?

I don't really know. I can't believe it's taking this long!! The nausea is back full force and she's still not able to eat or drink anything. Day 33.

We really need to know if the nausea is being caused by this damn stone. Out, damn'd stone! out, I say!

@@ShellMilliner that's a great idea about the meeting.

Well, we are still here. She's getting more and more depressed by the day. This is really hard on her.

Still super nauseated. Bariatric surgeon said the barium swallow study looks normal, he can't understand the nausea, he asked me today if it could be that she's just depressed? "When I see her she's looking like she doesn't have the will to live." So he was asking if the nausea is basically related to depression and anxiety. Typical, when all else fails, blame the patient. I'm not impressed nor am I hopeful. Hell YES she looks depressed and like she doesn't have the will to live. She's been in pain and vomiting and hasn't eaten for FIVE WEEKS. SHE HAS NO LIFE BECAUSE OF THIS VOMITING AND NAUSEA. Bright blue vomit bag is permanently attached to her hand.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
