What will happen if I drink caffeine?

I'm 6 weeks post-op. I really want coffee and I can't stand decaf! I can tell the difference lol. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has tried drinking caffeinated beverages post-op? If so what were your reactions?? I miss my coffee!! :(

I recommend waiting a little longer to drink your first cup. I started coffee back up 2 months after the BS and now drink it every day with no problems.

My nurse practitioner told me I could have a cup of coffee per day once I could routinely get in 100 oz of water per day. That was all the motivation I needed.

I agree get clearance first. Also, do not count it as part of your liquid intake as it is counterproductive. I also suggest researching caffeine and bariatric surgery. Why they would prefer you don't have it? Beyond being a diuretic...

Well, I can alsonotice the difference between caf & decaf :( . I found a mixure of 25% REAL coffee and 75% decaf both of my favorite brand gives me full coffee taste and I'm a happy puppy....NO PROBLEMS
