Quest Protein Chips - Anyone else tried these?

Recommended Posts

Just tried these and they're pretty good. I liked BBQ flavor the best. They kinda remind me of Baked Lays. Anyone else tried them?

They remind me of those Special K Cracker chips in terms of their texture. I found it hard to eat a whole bag. I decided I'd rather steer clear of crispy/salty chip-like Snacks rather than fall back into old habits or renew old cravings.

I wanted to love them, but they reminded me of these awful boxes of dried scalloped potatoes (old dried potatoes and yucky powdered cheese) my mother used to buy. Bought one of each flavor, and couldn't give them away at work - people tried them, no one liked them.

Not much of a salty snack person, but if I NEEEED something (and sometimes I think we all feel that way), I'm a fan of the Health Wise dill pickle flavored Protein krinkles.

Thanks for the tip about the Krinkles, I'll have to check them out.

You also might want to consider Harvest Snaps Snapea Crisps as another alternative to Krinkles. To me they were very much like eating Andy Cap Fries. The Protein is a little lower at 5grams, but they are low in calories.

Harvest Snaps Snapea Crisps - Caesar

I ran across these today at Super Wal-Mart and was in the mood for a snack. I'm glad I picked them up and now wish I had gotten the other flavors to try as well, or at least bought more than 1 bag of the Caesar flavor! :-P

If you are looking for an alternative to potato chips, I can't recommend Snapea Crisps enough. Made from green peas, they have the texture of a Funyun or Andy Capp Hot Fries.

Baked and crunchy, they have a hint of onion and parmesan cheese.

$1.50 per bag / 3.5 servings per bag
1 serving =
22 crisps, coming in at a low 120 calories:
16 grams of carbs
5 grams of protein
5 grams of fat

@@joatsaint I've had the lentil crisps (tomato basil I think?) and they were delicious as well.

I bought one bag that I actually plan to crush and use them to coat a chicken breast. Something different. I agree with everyone else, they are too expensive.

I prefer dried edamame! Not really a chip but still makes an excellent snack

Yuck! I'm not a picky person and if I buy something I make it work. But I found those chips to be just awful that I just couldn't continue eating them. The worst thing was that I bought like 6 bags and lost the receipt. So I ended up throwing them away...I couldn't bring myself to subject anyone else. I mentioned my experience to the guy at Vitamin Shoppe and he said that people return them all the time and that his manager was going to stop carrying them.

Nope but I heard they are nasty from the sales associate at GNC

They have a nasty after taste. I can only eat half a bag at a time. I unfortunately bought 3 cases ???? I'll try to get through them this year...

Tried these some time ago. It was an impulse buy while leaving the market. If I had read the package I would have skipped it. I just looked at the pic and thought yum, dried peas. I was so disappointed by the processed crap.

i was in the Vitamin shoppe the moment they first arrived and im a chip freak! i was sooo happy i bought each flavor went home to watch football with some chips, I was in heaven...

Which turned quickly to being in hell...it looks like a chip, sounds like a chip, tastes like carboard mixed with ass. oh my, i do not think you couldve made something taste worse unless you ate those chips threw them up and tried to eat that. i was heartbroken and out the 12 bucks as well. sigh Now literally if i try anything i compare them to those chips, " well its not as bad as those Protein chips..". etc.

I personally at trader joes they sell an edamame rice mini chip that is amazing with hummus ( which are two things i thought i would never eat in my life if you had asked a year ago) also my local supermarket has these chickpea chips they have some protin which is nice and very low carbs for quite a lot more chips than i could fit with my sleeve lol, but like 6 to 8 chips with some fresh pico salsa is just heavenly , heres a link.

Tried them and didn't care for them. I DO like Simple 7 Quinoa chips though.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
