Over a year out: How much can you eat?

Recommended Posts

I am 13 months out and I cannot hardly eat anything. I have sooo much restriction it's crazy. I don't know if my surgeon made my sleeve too small or what, but it absolutely painfully hurts if I eat too much, I just simply can't. I'm constantly thirsty and Water is difficult to get down. However I was able to reach my goal and even exceed it in very little time. Eating is just not enjoyable at all anymore, it's very disheartening! I eat about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for lunch and can only get down a half a bowl of Soup for dinner. If I'm hungry between I just snack on chips, they go down easily and I don't feel hungry. I am under 500 calories a day, I can really eat anything I want because I'm restricted to just a few bites, but am maintaining my weight since November. I did lose most of my hair, which is slowly growing back. It's been a hard and winding road!

I am only 3 months out and I'm lucky if I can't force myself to eat 1/2 cup to a cup a day! I love to look at recipes and pics of food but can't stand the taste of really anything. The Dr told me I should be eating 5 to 9 times a day but to me that's impossible.... I'm steadily losing 1 to 3 lbs every 2 to 3 days.

I'm almost 13 months post-op. My meal-time volume limit is is 3/4 to 1 cup of food. My dense (meat) Protein limit is 3-4 ounces. I always try to eat that (or most of it) first. Makes a big difference!

In order to get in all the calories I need to stop losing, I am now eating more Snacks than I once did. I try to include some Protein in those Snacks, e.g., cheese, yogurt.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
