Three years since my last follow up and I am failing

I have moved in the last four years and the only local physician in-network has stopped placing Lap Band... She actually talks negatively about it. Needless to say, I didn't go back. It has been three years since my last follow up and I am failing. I have never lost more than 15 pounds with the band, but it did not come back.

My last visit I had a stretched esophagus so they took the Fluid out of the band to heal the esophagus.

I want to see a new physician and I am looking for someone close with a good reputation in the Hershey/Harrisburg area (17033). I would like to get back on track and If that isn't possible I am willing to consider other options. I am also currently having some heartburn after having the Flu and Bronchitis and fear something might have happened with all the coughing.

Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.

Hi Calli,

Don't give up! I had surgery in March of 2011. I lost a total of 70 pounds and have just recently gained 30 of it back. I got really frustrated with everything that came with the lap band and just simply gave up. It's really great that you have been able to keep off the weight you have lost. I recently went back to the doctor to get a fill and I am back on this lap band journey. But it's like starting all over. I have to remember everything about eating all over again. So my message to you is NEVER give up! Even if you have to go to the doctor that is against it in order to get a fill go get your fill!! She doesn't have to like the idea but she does have to do the job you are paying her for. Go in get your fill and go about your business!! Wish you much success!
