I'm loving my bugg...I've only had it 3 full days but, I like that it's making me keep my calories in check. I don't want to NOT hit my deficit so if I hit it and I haven't eaten dinner and I can't get in more exercise then dammit it's Water for the rest of the night lol. I'm trying to get all my steps in too and that's pretty hard with a sit-down job. HINT did you know you can set your Bugg to remind you of things? I set mine to go off at 8, 10, 1 and 3:15...it vibrates and beeps and I get up from my desk and walk around my office floor. That's 174 steps in less than 2 minutes(I haven't timed it) but at least it doesn't look too silly with me walking around and I'm getting steps in. I think I'm going to set it to go off more often. I wrote my trainer to see if I can get the vibration only without the beep in case I'm in a meeting when it goes off lol. Don't feel like explaining to the President of the company why my arm is beepin! I also find myself taking the stairs, parking farther away etc to get the steps in. DH and I walked our neighborhood last night and that's 1850 steps. Looking forward to getting the digital display so I can keep a closer eye on what I'm burning during the day. I never take breaks at work but, I may have to do that just to get my calorie burn in

DH got his bugg yesterday and I help set him up on his. Whether he ends up logging all his food or not we'll see. That's going to be the hardest part for him...he was floored today when I measured what he thought was 4 ounces of milk and it was actually 8! The trainer told me people miscalculate their intake by 30-40% when we don't weigh and measure and she recommended a digital food scale. I picked a nice one up at Walmart last night to get myself back in check with the correct weight of foods.

Good luck everyone!

Morning bbusers!

I am in love with my little bugg...he needs a name....hmmm. I will have to think of one.

Can I just tell you, that in 3 hours I have reached 65% of my target calories burned for the day!!! Psyched! I worked this morning (I caer for a quadriplegic woman) so it is a 2hr mini workout, then I just did my couch to 5k run. I am thrilled.

Sherry-i have a similair feeling. I too am finding that this is keeping me more accountable to the food thing. I am measuring again and noticing how off I have been on the portions. Not to mention I am floored by how many calories I can actually consume if I am not careful. I had to go out for a walk last night to hit my deficit because I had eaten a little halloween candy. I am shocked how quickly the calories add up (I won't eat anymore of it, since it is not worth it). I am already down a solid 2 pounds. YAY. I hope your DH gets into the logging of food. It is a tough transition, but I think it really helps keep things in check. He is banded too, right?

To all of you just getting the bugg..enjoy. I am so pumped and I thank everyone else's enthusiasm here for convincing me to splurge. 3 days in and I feel it was worth every penny.

one more question:

Has anyone flown on a plane with their bodybugg. I am going on vacation next week and I am wondering if I can take it with me. I am afraid that with the new travel regulations, it may get confiscated. Anyone have any idea????

I think probably as long as you take it off and put it in your purse or carry on bag, it shouldn't be a problem. HOWEVER...I don't know if that would count as one of the electronic devices that they want turned off during take-off and landings.... I wonder what the airline would have to say.....

Anyone have any experience with this???? I travel quite a bit, and hadn't considered this aspect yet.

I just tracked my bugg and it left Calif. yesterday and is now in IL. I live in Indiana so maybe it will be here on Monday:clap2:. I paid $229.00 with the discount on Oct. 31. Good luck to all getting the discount.

I've flown, gone everywhere with the bugg and have had no problems....

all you have to do is take it off, put it in the little bin and walk through, then put it back on...

So how do you change the calorie level? I'm having issues with it telling me to 1800 daily.

Otherwise I love the little bugger.

Yah, I was also wondering about the daily calorie thing, mine says I should have 1700/day, that seems a little high doesn't it? Can you change that? I'm absolutely LOVING this thing, I love the graph. It definitely is making me keep my calories/exercise in check.

I had mine set at 1200, but the BB coach re-set it to be at 1950!!! I about DIED! I'm totally NOT eating that much. Lol. I still stick around 1000 - 1200 cals. As long as I reach my 1500 cal deficit I should still lose like 3 pounds a week.

Katydot - No my hubby isn't banded just me but, he does need to lose weight. It was funny to see his face when I showed him the difference in what he THOUGHT he was eating versus what he WAS actually eating. The bug has kept him from snacking too. He said Geesh didn't realize how much I ate inbetween until now. Because both he and I think twice before putting something in our mouths now lol. I just bought a bunch of the 100 cal Snacks and put them in our downstairs kitchen. So if we want one we really have to think about it and go get it plus when we do...it's only 100 cals.

To change your calorie info go to the website and to your page and go to my info tab at the top and you should see a screen that says "targets". I went ahead and had my appointment on the phone and just didn't mention I was banded. I received a lot of useful information.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket. I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to. And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
