I understand that medicare leaves it up to each state if they choose to cover the gastric sleeve surgery. Minnesota does not cover it, but I have heard that in certain instances they will cover it. Any one in MN been approved for the sleeve and what was required to get them to approve it.

It shouldn't matter what state you live in since Medicare is Federally funded. Medicaid is state funded . Through out this process thus far every doctor my surgeon sends me to knows exactly what Medicare approves, etc. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Yes afaik Medicare covers it depending on specific qualifiers -like stated above it's federal, not state. Getting approved can be hard sometimes & may need to be resubmitted. (Even a few times) Wish you the best :-)
