Bariatric Vitamin home delivery good? Or No?

Recommended Posts

So I told you I would ask about this at my appt., and I did. She said that less than 10 percent of insurance companies have a supplement program, and to call mine to see if they do, she will call in a prescription with whatever I take. I need to do that today. My Ins. is such a poop (no other way to say it!!!) I will be surprised if they do it. Hope I'm wrong!

I applied for this but they didn't take Medicare or ChampVA. They won't tell you over the phone if your insurance will pay. I think they contact your insurance and they decide if they want to pay for it. Good luck!

I have bcbsAL (peehip) and I was told my insurance wouldn't cover it. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call saying it was covered - I just have a $40 copay each month.

As far as taste, the Vitamins and Calcium aren't that bad. They dissolve pretty good if you just hold them in your mouth - a little chalky if you try to chew them up.

I just got them! So far I've tried the Multivitamin (not bad) and the b-12 spray. It kinda freaked me out, I didn't know the liquid was red so when I sprayed it in my nose some red came out. I thought I was bleeding!! They should warn a person about that! Geez!post-237766-0-63949800-1426783328_thumb.jpg

@@Elode LOL I forgot to mention that! It's a pretty good deal, just wasn't for me since I couldn't stomach the Vitamins - again, my sensitive tummy I'm sure. The co-pay for the B-12 spray (which is Rx) was the same through them or my pharmacy, so the Vitamins were basically a freebie. My doctor just swiched me to other vitamins & I can take pills now....I just couldn't see wasting them when someone else could use :)

Enjoy!

I had my surgery last week (March 11th) and haven't been cleared for Vitamins yet, but I bought the Journey Vitamins because it was a multi-complex Vitamin and I don't need to take a thousand other pills with it. I'll be taking 3 in the morning and 3 at night and that's it.

I like the delivery option though. It takes the thinking out of it lol

Thanks for sharing!

My insurance would not cover it. Honestly, I'm glad that they didn't. I don't think I now spend $25 a month on Vitamins, even after I had to changed to a bit more expensive Iron supplement.

I get the B12 at costco and it was really cheap. I've been taking the Centrium chewable multi Vitamin but I think I'm switching to a regular multi when my supply runs out soon. I get Calcium capsules at Vitamin Shoppe and they are also inexpensive. I thought I would be spending a fortune on Vitamins, but I'm not. If only I could get my insurance to cover my Protein, that would be awesome!! :)

Ok I've decided I can't do the zinc...makes me ill, I can't stand the Calcium tablet to powder consistence eww. So I'm liking the Multivitamin and nose spray. I doubt I will get another months supply. It was worth the try though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
