My husband and I both plan to have the sleeve. He is about 12 hours post-op and doing great! I had so much anxiety for the past 2 days, this was truly a leap of faith. This was an extremely difficult process to get to, but so much easier after. He was walking with soap little discomfort due to gas. we are now waiting for the day when he can stop all of his blood pressure medication.

Now I can't wait to have mine. My documents were submitted to insurance about a week ago. I'm calling them tomorrow.

Does anyone have any advice that they would give us immediately following the procedure?

What kind of advice are you looking for? The best I can give without knowing your situation is to follow all the rules your surgical team gives you, to the "T", and if you feel you are having any complications, to call your team ASAP. Good luck to you both!

We're home now, should he mostly rest or is moving around good? I'm making him take it easy, but he's not liking it. How much is ok?

Most importantly, don't do anything that might hurt. If he was cleared to walk, move around...go ahead and do so, but don't overdo. Bending over or anything that might involve the torso should be done very gently, but again, was he cleared to do that? Did he have a full-open incision, or the typical 5 tiny wounds? That would dictate a lot of what he can and can't do. If you like, we can be bariatric pals via this site. Just let me know! And he should be resting, but get him up and walk him frequently, and for longer jaunts each time, but no race-running!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
