I'm new to the tofu world. I'm less than excited to try it but it's high in Protein and I need to suck it up and try it. Does anyone know where I can find some good tofu recipes?

I'm not too creative when it comes to tofu, but my favorite (and incredibly fast/easy) tofu recipe:

1 can diced tomatoes with chilis

1 package light ultra firm tofu

Throw both in skillet until all of the Tomato juices are absorbed into the tofu and it gets a little crispy on the edges.

If you like spicy, its flavorful with a little kick. It's very filling, and tastes great reheated as well.

Hopefully others have more creative recipes!

Good luck

Many stir-fry type recipes that call for chicken are easy to sub tofu. I prefer extra-firm, cut into slices, pressed with paper towels to remove extra Water, then cube and use as chicken. I so order most Asian dishes when O go out with tofu--I've found my pouch tolerates it far better than chicken.

You can get a lot of recipes on line. Tofu will absorb any flavor put to it. I like Asian stir fry veg with cubed tofu and a soy sauce, garlic crushed, Fresh ginger grated. Just make sure you squeeze out the Water out of the tofu. You can add a little truvia to the marinade to add a little sweetness Just a little.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
