No weight loss in a week and a half

Recommended Posts

Stressing a little. Since January 1 when I started my prep until February 12 I has lost 37 pounds. I've not lost anything since. I've had bronchitis and a sinus infection for about 2 weeks and wonder if the medication could be playing a part in this?

Don't stress. Weight loss is not linear. You will stall...sometimes for weeks. You might gain as well at times. You just started your journey so focus on eating healthy, learning how to eat with your band, exercising, and focusing on the non scale victories. Good luck and keep us posted. I bet you will do fine.

37lbs in roughly a month and 1/2 is AMAZING! You have to give your body time to catch up with itself. During the time that the scale isn't moving is when your body takes advantage of catching up with itself by losing inches. As long as you keep on making healthy food choices, getting in your Water, Protein and exercising the scale will start moving again, it has no other option. I know it's frustrating but hang in there you're doing great!!

Wow! Right now your focus should be getting better not losing weight. Your overall health is essential for weight loss. Stay in bed if possible and drink plenty of fluids. Once you are feeling like your old self you can then get back to focusing on weight loss. Congratulations on what you have lost so far and continued success.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
