I just bought a new pair of spring/summer pants at a size 14. Two blouses at size 16. Hubby tried to get me to buy more but didn't want to spend too much....yet.

Waiting for the Anne Taylor Loft range. lol

But I didn't think that 14 would fit me. I've gone from a 22/24 to a 14. In two-three months I'll be in the 12 range.

I have surgery in 3 days. I'm 5'4" and my healthiest weight post high school was 138 pounds and I was a size 12. I was in the military. As soon as I stopped that daily exercise is when I started ballooning. Anyway, I was searching for a size 12 goal pants this weekend and I didn't find anything that jumped out at me. Then, like magic, there it was. The perfect pair of Vera wang pants. For 5 Flipping dollars! How could I pass them up! The issue is...they are a size 10. The dream size. The size I've always wanted to be. So I bought them. Am I being unrealistic? Or do a lot of people actually surpass their goals and get thinner than they were in high school?

Don't worry if you do everything you are supposed to you will hit that goal size prob have to give them away because you may end up a smaller size. Good Luck who says NO to Vera for $5

I know you've already had your surgery, and I'm probably late, but I wanted to chime in. The smallest I remember being was in HS when I was swimming. I was 135 lbs, though I don't remember what size I was. When I started buying my own clothes, the smallest size I ever remember buying was a 10. When I started this journey, I was in a 12/14 (depending on the designer). I'm now 3 months post op, and I just had to go buy new jeans again because I am now a 6!

People are right in saying that you will be so surprised at your loss if you follow your surgeon's directions to a T. I've gotten to the point where I don't buy clothes from anywhere but Ross because I don't want to spend too much money on something that might not fit in a couple months.

Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
