Scheduled for April 30th. Original date was April 23rd but delayed because of Doctor's scheduling conflict. Means I will have been on preop diet for three weeks. Thank God for boullion or the shakes might have been terminally boring.

Surgery this morning. Everything went great! Pain was bad for first 2 or 3 hours but not much now. As long as tests come back good tomorrow I can go home tomorrow night! So glad I did this...no regrets at all!

I am one week out post-op. I had surgery on the 16th. Everything went smoothly. I stayed on top of my pain meds, so I didn't feel too much discomfort. I walked a lot and had plenty of ice chips. Besides that, I slept most of the time. The worst was the nausea as the anesthesia wore off. My suggestions are to bring a robe or shorts with an elastic band to wear under your hospital gown as you walk around. Socks if your feet get cold, but my hospital provided them, something to wear home, and basic hygiene products. I only use pain meds at night a little now because of the discomfort on the left side.

Congrats to all who have crossed over, and praying for those who are on the way!

am 8 days post-op, feeling great!! Two shakes a day and 1/4 cup puréed food twice a day as well. Getting my liquids in. Put an app on my phone called Baritastic. Love it!! Can track everything, food, Water, weight. I am down 14lbs since surgery day (April 20th). Getting out and walking quite a bit. Doc appt not until May 15th, should be able to add more things to diet then. Really craving some sort of carb!!! A wheat thin sounds awesome right now!!!

Have had no complications so far, no throwing up, etc, hope it stays that way!! Did not like my Calcium citrate in pill form (so damn big, even the petites) so I ordered the Bariatric Advantage Carmel chewable ones, so far loving them!

@@Alissak77 That is great news!! Congratulations. I am so envious that your on pureed foods already. I cannot begin those until next week. I am 6 days post op and feeling great today as well. Since surgery I'm at 14 lbs also. Very excited. How are your Staples feeling? Mine are driving me nuts. I see my NP on may 7th and get then out the finally. I too am awaiting even a spoonful of a carb, I can't each much more than 3-4 bites of anything right now anyways. But I don't get the go on full foods for 5 more weeks... Next week begins my pureed and ground moist Proteins, bleh lol. Did you try the caltrate chews from Walmart? I assume much cheaper. But at least I know another person who is liking the caramel chews since I don't have to start my vits till next week. So excited for you so far.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
