Not sure if this is normal but im 3 days in to my preop diet and am not hungry. It's almost as if im becoming afraid of food. I know that this cannot be good if it goes on for an extended period if time but wow...a week ago i was woofin down big macs. So, im convinced its a mind set, not a disease as some are suggesting.

@@Spicy06 Congrat's.... I am 6 days post op, have had very little problems since surgery. I was up walking 15 minutes after I got back to my room, from surgery. WALK WALK WALK and be patient. My doctor did allow me to have the most delicious ice chips while I waited from my leak test. Once you've past that obstacle... drink drink drink!!!! Wishing you the best of luck!

ok, so I'm on day 4 of the pre-op diet. I started our last year at my heaviest at 405lbs. Scary huh? Then, after the first of the year, I was down to 395. Odd, considering I ate like a KING over Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. 395 pounds was my starting weight when I started the preop last Thursday (march 12th). I just weighed myself and was pleasantly surprised....384lbs!! I'm down 11 pounds and I've done nothing other than eat exactly what the dietician has told me to eat. I havn't worked out at all! Scary how much I'd be down if I hit the gym. If nothing else, it's motivation to my family that with the correct foods (all perishable) and Portion Control the weight will drop off. It's time to get after it all!

Day one of my pre-op diet. It wasn't so bad. Were you all looking at your daily calories while you were on the pre-op? I was at almost 700 calories today. That seems high to me..

Boy I just killed myself this weekend. I ate all kinds of stuff that I shouldn't of. I had a little weight gain too. So back on the wagon I go! I have two weeks before my surgery to get my head together! Wish me luck!

Why is everyone doing a 2 week pre op diet and I'm not. My surgery date is March 25. My surgeon told me not to gain weight but no shakes required either. March 18 I go to a 5 hour seminar in his office with dietician etc. Please help give me advice.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
