So excited got my dates!

Recommended Posts

So excited I got my dates! February 24th I'm having my band and port removed and April 21st I'm getting the sleeve. Last step is having the esophageal manometery test for the insurance to cover the sleeve but my surgeon said it would be fine since he has all the other info for the insurance. In between the two surgeries I have to have an endoscopy to check out the scar tissue. I'm doing Weight Watchers right now as I've been gaining weight from having an empty band and soon no band. My surgeon said to stick to a diet so I chose WW. I'm also starting to see a therapist who specializes in food and nutrition so I can work on my issues with head hunger and hopefully make the sleeve a success!

I had my band out in December, I had no pain whatsoever.....jumped off the bed, put on my boots and went home ...I hope it is the same for you. Estimated date for my sleeve is early March... I cannot wait. I wish I had done this 4 years ago instead of the band. This is exciting for sure. I know all about about the head hunger . For me it is mostly consistency of a certain food, like icing.

I am so glad to see I'm not the only one. I had to have my band taken out this past Thursday because it wasn't sitting right. I have lost 76 pounds since I got it put it in a year ago and am scared to death to gain the weight back. I really really hope to get the sleeve done.

For me the mental aspect of food mostly is like I use good to hide my emotions and I need to find a healthier way to let my emotions out!

Well it's been a while since I've communicated. Sorry, but life issues taken presidence. I've been caring for my hubby who fell out of bed one morning having a seizure. It's been tough but God is good and we are taking it a day at a time. He had 4 total by the time the ambulance got to the hospital. I'm eating but can't eat much. I fight to stay away from the sweet and fatty stuff but I must be doing pretty good because I'm still losing. I have to admit I'm kinda of tired of the shakes. They taste good and I've added fruit and a raw egg. I try to have at least 1 a day. Now I'm thinking about buying the T25 workout video, not sure when I can do it yet with my knee accident but I want to have it. I drink ISO 100 it's like a shake but I've never been big on shakes is the issue. I've missed you all and hopefully I'm back at least 1-2 times a week. Be blessed and keep losing!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
