So I have lost over 150 pounds of the 375 that I was. I had my surgery in April. I am running a minimum of 3 miles a day with my Fitbit I register about 8 to 10 miles a day including my 3 I run. I was a 52 size waist, now 38, I wore a 5 xlt shirt now I wear and XL. I did not put too much faith in my band and probably could have gone with a little more resistance than I have. My plan was to teach myself a new life style and not depend solely on the band its self. I have enjoyed a huge amount of success, but the above is not for the purpose of having everyone throw out praise. I worked very hard and enjoy where I am at now, I love to exercise and work out. All the success does not come without its problems, as I have found. I struggle for the complete support of my family. I my wife of 11 years has two kids and I have two of my own. Only her two live in our home. To get to the point my wife is overweight, my step son and especially my step daughter is overweight. I have tried so hard to motivate them to join me in my journey with no luck. I have done this all alone, I have had support from most everyone, but what my family does not understand is I would like them next to me enjoying my success with having their own. It has come to the point where it seems they are almost jealous of where I am and where I am going. I feel alienated by my own family for simply losing weight and become a healthier, happier person. In my 11 year marriage I was always the heaviest person in the home not I am by far the lightest. I will remain on track no matter what they choose to do by choosing not to get healthy or decide to join me. I just wish they would embrace my journey and begin their own, so we can support each other in becoming healthy. I would think the success I found would strengthen a family, and not tear it apart. Does anyone else face these issues or is there any good advice out there?

Without getting into detail, I know exactly what you mean....

I'm 63 years old, and like my Dr. told me the other week, I'm going in the opposite direction to other people my age.

And I really do not want to leave people behind.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
