My nut has me adding 1/3 cup powdered nonfat milk to all my Soups, yogurt, skim milk etc which adds 8 g Protein to everything I add it too. I also like carnation no sugar added instant Breakfast with 1 cup skim milk and 1/3 cup powdered milk. 21 grams protein and I like it better then Protein Shakes. I also get 12 grams of protein in yogurt and after adding the powdered milk its 20 grams protein. I can't tell the powdered milk is in anything unlike the Protein Powder which leaves a taste even when its unflavored. I hope this helps you.

Hi there:)

I had surgery on December 2. I think I'm doing ok so far. My SW was 244 my SW was 219 and now ( I just stepped on the scale this morning)

And I'm 200. I pretty much wanted to fall over. I have been 209+ for over 13 years.

This has been a true tool for my weight loss. I feel blessed that I've been given this gift of health and life.

I got sleeved December 11th. I've lost 28lbs postop and 67 total. Still having trouble getting all my Protein in but have no problem with Water. Just now beginning to eat, really. Usually one meal a day. About 2 oz of fish and then I try to get in two Protein shakes. I can already tell a huge difference in my appearance!

Went back to work two weeks ago and still struggling with tiredness and being lightheaded.

I'm still trying to wrap my had around this new lifestyle where eating is hard lol but it's what I signed up for. Overall things are good.

I was sleeved 12/30 and I just had 4 oz of delicious blended pea Soup. I worked out 1 hour yesterday and I'm in good spirits and energetic. I do not do those sweet shakes. I drink goats milk, buttermilk and kefir. That Protein is more digestible and absorbs at a higher rate. I'm into building strength and energy! I'm loosing 1-2 pounds a day.

I had my surgery on 12/18 and currently on mushy foods, and stalled in the weight loss - it actually looks like I gained two pounds and it's quite depressing. I'm tired and not getting much exercise other than some walking. :(

I've lost about 20 pounds total since I started the pre-op diet, and I'm having trouble eating enough - only managing about 800 calories a day, so I'm sure that's part of it, but it's so discouraging. I'm getting most of my Water in, and eating as well as I can, but it's still a struggle.

And I'm almost wanting to cry because I was really looking forward to homemade chili tonight, but my husband made it so spicy I can't eat it because it burns so bad.

I don't regret getting the surgery, but I can't believe how little I've lost and how poor my progress has been.

Sleeved 12/31, eating yogurt, pureed Beans, miso Soup, hot tea and canned fruit like peaches in lite Syrup blended with ice. Was also able to eat a scrambled egg with 2 tbsp of garlic hummus. I add a scoop of nectar isoprotein to everything to keep up on my Protein levels. I have my follow up tomorrow. Feeling tired, still very tender.

Sleeved 12-18 and went back to work on Monday. Doing really good, down 17lbs since surgery, kinda stalled since eating pureed foods...not sure why. Getting all my Protein in, about 50 oz fluids in, so need to work harder on that. Tonight, I had chili that I put in my bullet, but it was too spicy...so took a zantac and tums..probably will wait on that kind for a while. Love refried Beans and pureed vegis...joined the the gym, but it is 4 degrees out, just staying home w/exercise bike. Looking forward to this new year.

I was sleeved 12/16 and doing well. My incisions are healing nicely and I am able to be fairly active. I plan on getting back into the gym this coming week. My HW was 322, SW 300, and this morning I weighed in at 277. Overall loss of 45 lbs and 23 of that since surgery. I feel like my loss is slow, but I'm thrilled to be losing at all. So far, I've gone down a pant size and a full shoe size. I just packed up 2 bags of clothes that are already too big to be donated. ????

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
