Hey November buddies! How are things going for you?

Things are slowing down on this end... I have had a stall for a month! I'm hoping with all the exercise and the increase in Water that it will break with more than a pound.

I'm using a drinking app to remind me to drink because I seem to forget. And it must be helping because I have almost doubled my Water intake.

My Vitamins are still a real challenge. I had some tests done and I need to get on it because my Vitamin D is quite low, so I have to up it quite drastically for 3 months and I'll be tested again.

I did however have some great news. My diabetes is in remission and could quite possibly be cured! In 3 months I will be doing the glucose test and if it comes back normal then I'm CURED!!!!!

I can't wait to find out!

This really is the best thing I have done for myself. I am so happy, life is good!

Sheena :-)

It's great reading so many success stories. Congratulations! My date was November 19th also. I have done well so far- not particularly fast but steady so far. Extremely uneventful surgery and recovery for which I am very grateful!

My loss has slowed down as well, but I have lost half of my excess weight so am feeling good. the weather has finally broken, i am able to get outside and do more excercise (and yard work). I have to get back into the habit of daily, scheduled, excercise. I slacked off in March due to family schedule and lousy weather, but it needs to go back on the agenda.

My surgery was November 4th. I'm 3 pounds from goal. Started out the day of surgery at 213 and at 138 as of this morning. I eat whatever I want, be it a mini piece of candy, Pasta, or baked cheetos. Never once have I exercised. I drink one Monster muscle Protein energy drink every morning and eat a few bites of something for dinner. I weigh every single day, and never once have I stalled for more than a couple of days and that's only been here in the last few weeks. The weight loss part has been a breeze. The complications were hell!! Been getting a little better everyday since February.

Mine was 11/4. I was 220 day of surgery and 182 today. Total of 63 lbs from start and 38 since surgery so I'm happy with that. I have been stalled for a month and have been having those same what if that's it worries. Upping my exercise, Water and Protein so hoping that gets the scale moving again. Looks like everyone is doing great!

You'll find a lot of the same issue on this forum. There are really many reasons such as underlying medical conditions, metabolism, exercise, age, and gender. The big thing is that you are losing and if you look back one year ago today, think about the great strides you have made! Keep up the good work!

Great job everyone. I started at 209lbs and hovering around 162lbs for 2 weeks. I feel great. Dowm from size 16 to size 10.

This waa best decision I made. My physician is very pleased with my progress. Notice Hair loss the past few weeks. Not really concerned. I am craving for crunchy or salty in evenings but not hungry at all. Taking all my Vitamins. Know I should be getting at least 20 oz of Protein Drinks into my diet. Family extremely supportive. Challenging to eat out without wasting food or making so obvious to other couples or friends why Im not eating much.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
