Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Being a newbie i was hoping if anyone can suggest some yummy puree recipes for Christmas and New Years.

Currently I am 2nd week into post op and on puree foods. It would be great to know what others did to keep themselves on track during

this festive season.

I'm second week as well and on Purred foods, I'm making "shelly's baked ricotta" here is the recipe! Happy holidays!!

Shelly's Baked Ricotta

8 oz of Ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan

1 large Egg, beaten

1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

salt & pepper to taste

1/2 cup Marinara Sauce

1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave

Mmmm @@kymmiej11 That sounds great! And I already have all the ingredients ! I'll have to make that! I'm thinking if I were to make it and the serve it with pita triangles at Christmas it would be a great appetizer. And then I could just eat it without the bread and not look too out of place. Perfect :D Thanks!

It's a very small amount of cheese.. You'll have tiny bits, chew them thoroughly and you should be fine, I just made one tonight and it was great and I feel great!! So good to have another option besides Soup and such! But if your concerned pls ask your doctor first! Enjoy!!

Christmas day is my last day on purees, of course - if I'd just been a day earlier! :). But I've never been one to go overboard and gain a lot on the holiday (I went overboard all year long, lol). I'll probably stick to my new normal Breakfast and lunch, then have a little of the traditional stuff for dinner (puree some turkey, have a spoonful of mashed potatoes, maybe a deviled egg and call it a day). Then Friday, back to my regularly scheduled programming!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
