Did I mention how HUGE the plate of spaghetti was?? Probably two cups or more. LOL and to think that a week ago I could barely eat. I am hoping it is because of all the weight I have lost. I weigh tomorrow.

D I weigh in tomorrow too. I am scared. Only because this restriction sucks so much ass that if I did not lose weight I will probably cry. I just looked at the leftover pizza in the fridge thinking damn that wold probably taste really good. I considered carving it into the shape of a bike and then licking it. I also bought some chocolate milk last night for DH that I refuse to take a taste of until after I weigh in. This is the good stuff people, straight from the dairy and such chocolatly creamy goodness that you can not drink more that a few sips without being ill.

So yesterday i had to help out at the information seminar for my surgeon last night. The coordinator thought she would be funny and blow up my before picture (the one with the good awful sweats and headband on day of surgery and put it right next to me at the sign in table. Dr. Bacal came in and looked at it and said "oh look at how nerdy you looked" :D That was pretty much the face I gave him lol. But I looked super hot last night lol. Anyhow I had a fun time.

And I ran about 3.5 miles after I got out of work yesterday. I can not believe that I can run. I was not going to say anything but what the hell I want to be held accountable for it. I have officially started training for the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. It is a 10K race. I obviously do not plan on winning but I plan on finishing. If for some reason I can't get up to doing the 6.2 miles then there is a 5K (called the Stuffing Strut lol) that I can do instead. But I really want to this. I have wanted to for a long time.

J...I need to get the sugar out of my system as well. I am still allowing myself a soda or 2 a day, and NOT LOOSING!!! My diet is ok, just not the added calories of the soft drink....I brought OJ and Unjury for this morning....need to kick it back up. This will be the first time, if I dont do something drastic over the weekend, that I will go to the doct, and not loose any....Allot has been stress in my life, but holy crap....this needs to stop. I am never going to hit 250, or 200 if I dont change my bad habits.

Well, I am at work, check in lter

HP I never thought I would be doing this a few months ago. I can't believe I can actually run and not feel like I am going to die. In February I could barely walk 30 minutes without feeling super sore and doing it very slowly. It is the most amazing feeling.

When I hit 199 I am probably going to cry. And Again at like 189 since that will be the offcial lowest weight I have been since becoming an adult. Hell it will be the lowest weight I have been since about 8th grade.

HP get a fill like mine and you could kiss the soda goodbye lol.

No don't really do that. Honestly though the OJ is not much better calorie wise. Unless it is low cal OJ.

Anytime tomorrow is good for me. Does anyone have anything pressing that they can only be there at a certain time?

BG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are on FIRE! I think it's fantastic to train for the Turkey Trot. You can double your distance in 10 weeks. You know you can. You have your cheerleaders right here!

GO STACY, GO STACY!

D- I have Sprint, but I don't pay the $5 for unlimited sprint to sprint. Regardless I have a billion weekend minutes, so it's not an issue. We'll have JC with his fancy phone/web browser take pictures and send them instantly too. JC, you've been volunteered.

Is 8pm on a Saturday night Eastern Time too pathetic for us to chat? Shouldn't we be out having fun or something? I'll be out riding earlier in the day, and like HP, I'll be back home and eating/resting right about then, so I'll be there.

I'm meeting Alison in Toledo tonight and we are going on a 23 mile ride tomorrow. Then I'm driving back home. This LDR thing just sucks sometimes.

Happy Friday ya'll.

Well J at least you get to see her!

The training plan seems simple enough. 3x a week. Two of the days are ust 30 minute runs and the third is the "long run" which increases by 1 mile every other week (2 weeks at 3 miles, two weeks at 4 miles, two weeks at 5 miles, etc) and then 3 days of cross training (obviously biking riding for me) and the day before your long run is a rest day. I am really excited. The Turkey Trot comes with a tshirt and you know I love a good tshirt.

8pm is not pathetic. We should be spending our day inside and then coming in to talk to our freinds. It's our night out on the computer lol.

The funny thing is I am not sore today but yesterday my quads hurt so bad that i got stuck on the toilet and could not push myself up with my legs. Of course this happened at work....

"Just 30 minute runs" Like that's not huge! You have got to be proud! I know I'm inspired.

Getting stuck on the toilet is kind of funny though. It must have resolved somehow because you're not there anymore. "help...help?! I'm stuck, help..."

Yeah, I'm happy to see her this weekend. It's the first time since we got home from vacation, so 5 weeks...and next week we'll be in a tent with new friends close by and a 6 year old a few feet away. I might have been a little frustrated. And we've got another long spell coming up with out seeing each other...so it's is a good thing. :D

Anything time wise works for me.

J if you and the lady want some alone time the girls can always have a slumber party in my tent. It's not like I am going to be getting any that weekend so someone else might as well get some.

I had to use the sink and handicap bar to push myself up.

I am proud of the running. It is funny how 30 minutes does not even seem like a very big deal anymore.

I will do whatever works best for the group. I usually don't go out until 11:00 or so on the weekend!

BG, dang, you are setting the bar higher for me. Just when I finally reach 3 Miles and about 25 yards, you hit 3.5 !!!!!!!! WayToGo!!!!!! Now I have to stop slacking and step up! Thank You and congrats it feels good to be part of a group like this! I am proud to call all of you friends.

B, where ya hiding? How are you?

BTW I don't remember if I posted it here or not, but I am back down to within 4 pounds of my ticker.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
