It feels like hell on earth lol.

I ate about 1/4 of a toasted bagel for Breakfast. And only the very cruchy toasted outside parts, not the doughy inside. Baby, baby bites. Smaller than a pea. I had about 1/2 cup of chili for lunch and a could barely finish it. Took me about 30 minutes. It felt really tight going down. Almost to the point where I was wondering if maybe I was too tight. Once I had a few bites it went down easier. It is just weird because I have not had this kind of restriction. Sure it was there but I could still eat any kind of food and take big bites. Now I am going to be scared to try thngs like bread.< /p>

JC's launch into redneck stardom.

I went to bed early one Friday night in anticipation of catching a wall mount worthy large mouth bass. My boat hooked to my truck, every last little thing required to do battle on the lake was either in the boat or truck.

It was a rare night of peacefull sleep, no one calling, no knocking on the door, just absolute peace.

I woke up at 4:55 a.m. on que five minutes before my alarm clock as I often do, I posses an amazing internal alarm clock. The sounds I heard were magical although somewhat disappointing. Light drops of rain hitting the roof dripping off leaves, pooling on the ground with a very soothing rythmn. There was no anger, I made a quick assesment, this sounded like a long set in soak. This rain should be embraced this is sleep all day long rain, almost as good as fish all day sun! Back to sleep I went.

Then a new sound was introduced to my senses a train, not any old train a steam driven honest to God locomotive and it was headed straight for me RUNNNNNN! My instincts leap into action I jumped to my feet and started to sprint to the other side of the house.

My house at the time was my family home, I purchased it from my surviving siblings after the deaths of my Father then youngest sister. I Dad had this house built in the 1940's after arriving here from Kansas by way of Galveston Texas. It is a wood frame, what's referred to around here as either a cracker shack or shotgun house. There were two additions on the original house to accomodate our growing family. Hardwood floors with tongue and groove siding inside as well as out.

As I sprinted towards the farthest end of the house there was a rifle shot equivalent snap, followed by an indescernable noise and finally a thunderous crash. The entire house shook echoed and vibrated violently. I made it to the kitchen with Olympic speed only to realize I should put some clothes on. I raced back to my room certain that I would be crushed and grabbed some clothes sprinting for the kitchen once again. Lightning was now introduced into the mix, just as I pulled on some clothes and opened the door a bolt exploded a branch of a Grandfather oak causing the powerline of our sentinel light to break. It was whipping and snapping in about a 30 yard radius bright electric discharge was competing with the now violent lightning. Before I could get back into what I thought was going to be a very large coffin of a house another branch broke sending the powerlines by the road down to my fence which lit up like an arc welder. Then, silence ,the long soaker rain even subsided.

I started to walk back through my house to survey the damage. Then, the smell of smoke filled my lungs. Panic struck me, the house is on fire! What are the most important things to grab? Run! Just Run grab and go grab and GO! I flew out the door looking for signs of smoke and fire looking for a Water hose what the Hell is going on?

Then, silence, as if nothing ever happened, the house didn't appear to be on fire. There was however what looked like a giant oak tree hand grasping the roof, after a closer look I realized that this limb which was the size of a fully mature oak tree had lined up perfectly with both of the chimneys in the house. There were only small holes broken through the roof deck and the old house was still standing proud.

In the distance I heard sirens and a lot of them they were getting louder and louder apparently the people living in the trailer park down the hill from my house didn't fare so good. No one was injured but there was a lot of structural damage.

The news media arrived at my place about two hours after the incident. They took pictures of the Giant limb interviewed me about the incident.

You know come to think of it they did not run much of the audio from my answer when the cameraman said you look a little shook up, were you scared?. After they left I looked around the yard, looked at the old house, then a thought hit me, I am going to be on TV! What am I wearing? I looked down and found nothing unusual except for one thing, and this is a public service announcement. If you are threatened by violent weather and you decide to dress yourself before escaping, IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO PUT ON A PAIR OF FREAKIN SOCKS!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND? The time you waste putting ona PAIR OF SOCKS!!! COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE!!!!!!! WTF???????

Aside from all that it was really no big deal and definately not the reason why I don't sleep good at night.

BG, I never slack off at work! Just thought I would send a quick little note. ;-)

The down side of restriction is feeling like a freaking buelemic. Don't tell me to get an unfill. Tell me to eat more often and not get so freaking hungry...then I eat too quickly. It takes about 6 bites to get to the can I continue or not space....And not big bites but little bites.

I'm out of my element and eating on other people's schedules. Today I ate 3 sausage links over the course of 20 minutes just so I could have some calories in my system...which was fine but then there was cake, and the thought to get some calories, any, had me eating a piece of that. I haven't eaten cake since April and not much then.

I'm frustrated and annoyed. I know it will get better, I'm just tight. Not too tight because if I make the right choices things are fine. But yesterday I tried rice and failed. Today was lunchmeat.

rambling........... For the first time since surgery, today while standing over a toilet in the handicapped stall with 5 good friends sitting at the table in the restaurant, PBing my lunch, which was delicious on they way down, and hungry as a trucker, I thought I hate this bitch ass band.

But then I wiped the spittal from my chin, dried my eyes, said a prayer of gratitude that no one heard me and went back to the table. This is what I signed up and I shouldn't be surprised that the band is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Good God J, I could of wrote that myself. I too, this week, have cursed my band like it was a nasty old piece of shit. I too, get stuck and have had the famous sliming but have not pbed yet. I hope not too!!! I just want to know if everyone else gets the WORSE pain when getting stuck or if I am the only one. It hurts soooo fuckin bad sometimes and then I swear, I am right back at in the next meal, pushing it to the limits. I don't understand myself at times. It feels like I am on the outside looking in sometimes. I do love this weight loss, I do hate that I have to have this babysitter inside me.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
