My port is on the left side between two of my incisions.

I didn't know where my port was until my 1st follow-up appt. I have 2 incisions: 1 at my sternum (this didn't hurt at all) and 1 in my belly button (this hurt during recovery - felt like pinching just to the right of my belly button). I thought my port was in my chest and was amazed it didn't hurt. But the dr at follow-up told me my band was under my first incision (I was surprised, it's so high up!) and my port was next to my belly button, exactly where I had felt the mysterious pinching!

I believe most people with 5 incisions have their port midway between their belly button and ribs on either the left or right side. If you feel pinching at any one of the sites, that's probably it!

@@MattLAustin Dr.'s have their differences in where they place the port. I'm not sure why but maybe just preference. Mine is on the left side just under the rib. I can't measure between incision sites b/c as you lose weight and your body changes the site of your scar moves from where the port is sewn to the muscle under the skin.

After surgery my port site was the most annoying pain, so if your not feeling it don't sweat it your Dr. will know where to find it :)

Congrats on the surgery and welcome to Bandland!

My port is to the right of my belly button and a little above. I could barely feel or see it when I got banded but now, down nearly 150 lbs., it sticks out quite obviously. It isn't noticeable with clothes on but it's pretty obvious in a bathing suit..or with no clothes on.

I can actually physically feel my port above the biggest incision that is 2 inches above my belly button. Plus the area gets a bit sensitive when I get gassy

I have 4 incisions, 3 small and one larger, my port is at the larger one. During recovery, that one hurt the most, and it took about 4 weeks before it wouldn't hurt. Even now occasionally I will have port pain????

Thank you for posting this. I was wondering where mine is because I cannot feel it. I was banded 10 days ago and have my first follow up on Monday . I was starting to wonder if they had really done anything more than 5 incisions. Can't feel port and two days after surgery I am super hungry :-)

Wish they could of come up with a way to make the port not so noticeable after the weight comes off

My port is in my chest. Well more like in the crease of my left armpit. Makes it extremely easy for fills and does not require X-ray to access it.

I have 2 small incisions. One just below the breast line and the other in my belly button. My port is just above my belly button.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
