sister on way for WLS.

@RJ'S/beginning

i can only imagine your concern for your sister

she is totally aware that complications can and do happen

hopefully the rule of thumb.....

only one person per family can have WLS problems ;)

she's lucky to have help/support from you :)

hope things go well for her

RJS - hope things are going your way/improving?

good thoughts and luck sent to you both :)

speedy recovery :)

Thank you all. Your wonderful. I would think that with it all she would have run the other way. But no...She sees how different I am and wants that for herself. I am so proud of her. and hopefully you are right. One nut job per family...me! I want her to have it like Lipsticklady......smooth and easy......

I can hardly breath..

On another note. My butt is doing great. See the Doc on Fri. To find out if he is happy with the fix he gave me.....

Surgery done. They were way behind so it was not done until late afternoon. There is a 3 hour difference between our time zones so I do not know anything more then it was successful. YEAH! Can't wait to find out how she is doing today.

Don't know what surgery she had either. They had her down for the by pass. But a possible sleeve.

Cute though I guess even in a groggy state she told her hubby to make sure he called me. he laughed when he told me that......Oh I have such fear and happiness for her. It is almost unbearable!

RJ you have been in my thoughts a great deal and even more now that your sister has recently joined the losers bench. I have only best wishes and prayers for both of you. Funny how we worry even more for our family members then we do even for ourselves. My daughters are scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ariel Ortiz in Mexico on Monday. I was a lucky survivor of this surgery. No real issues. I pray and pray that my girls are as lucky. Going to Mexico adds another element of anxiety but I do believe they are in good hands. I HAVE to believe that to survive this!

Please keep us up to speed on how your sister is doing. She is so lucky to have such a caring, kind, and loving person for a sister. I mean that. You have been an inspiration for all of us on this site. Good luck to both of you!!!! Glad your butt is healing well!!! ????.

Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean a lot to me..... @@jjinWA My sister had the Gastric bypass. Came through it like a trooper. Had the leak test and passed with flying colors and is coming home today...They want her to start fluids. Real broth as she has been on a Protein shake diet for 3 months. I admire her grit and dedication to do that a lone!

Can't wait to talk to her..... :) I'm excited for her to say the least!

Talked to my sister. She comes home tomorrow. Oxygen levels a little low so they are keeping her over night....she is fine though and feeling great. Had pureed barley Soup for dinner. I said she has to be kidding...she said she had 2 sips.

I told her that she should only be on liquids not purees. Dam them...she said she goes home tomorrow and will stick to broths and other liquids for a few weeks. I thanked hand told her that it is wise and I explained why....

She said thanks mom....lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
