I am 35

Surgery date 1/13

Dr. Ariel Ortiz

BMI is 35

Looking forward to experiencing this with all of you! In just a few weeks we are all going to get our second chance at having a healthy body at a healthy weight! Cheers (lifting my Water glass) to all of us and many prayers for safe flights, surgery days, and healing! In the mean while, let's drudge through this diet together with support and encouragement because on the otherside of this experience is the women that we want to become! We CAN do this!

My surgery is 1/12/15. I've been considering some type of surgical help for quite some time and finally decided that VSG is best for me. I started seriously considering it in July and made outreach to my physician who got me started on the right path in August. I got my approval on Wednesday last week and now I'm a nervous wreck trying to physically and mentally prepare for an invasive procedure. I'm looking forward to it though and look forward to getting much support and giving support to others.

Best wishes on your surgery. Be sure to post how things turn out for you!

@@mkw10 are you waiting for your passport? I got mine within two weeks and instead of going to the post office if that's your local office I recommend going to the regional office to get it filled out. I did and it was much more efficient and that is why mine came back quick. Only suggestions if that is what if the hold up is!

Hi All,

Im still awaiting my exact day but it will be in January. Hoping the end of it, as Im still so nervous and scared.

Im in England, UK so things here a bit different. No medical insurance but the Nhs (national health service)

Its been a year since I was referred by my physician. Since that time I was put on a diet programme and have lost 60lbs.

Im turning 29 on dec 18th.

My highest weight 322 lbs

My current weight 246 lbs

Hoping to lose a bit more before January so need to be strict over christmas.

Going home to visit family in Wales UK and they tend to be feeders!.. So Im not hopeful on a loss.

I have two young boys 2 and 6 and leaving them while in hospital and the surgery risk itself is terrifying me! Purely because of my boys.

My husband is a general practitioner and great at his job, but seriously lacks on the home skills and kids department.

Keep thinking, how will he cope! How will the kids cope!

Because of this feeling I can not get excited about this life changing surgery that most of you are feeling.

I need encouragement that everything will be ok. Im not planning on telling my family who live very far away.

Their worrying and negativity will make me cancel everything!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
